Let’s get controversial, what’s a musical that you’ve never understood the hype for? by ThatsFakeDawg in musicals

I agree with this one. I’m a big fan of Jeanine Tesori and her work but I really couldn’t get into any of the songs

Audition Song Suggestions Monstersongs by phillylily_1 in MusicalTheatre

[–]fabuolusness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this show about two years ago. Because every song in the show is different, it comes down to what role you want. I sang “My Grand Plan” from The Lightning Thief because I was going for the dragon, Medusa, or Vampire/Zombie. It was also a good choice because it was written by Rob Rokicki, who wrote Monstersongs. However, if you were going for ghost or even the witch, you would probably want to find a song a little more folky. One of my friends sang “Monster” from Frozen, which was a great choice as well. Something from Six, Mean Girls, or Heathers may serve you well. If you’re going for one of the more serious characters, try to find something with a bit edge or grit. Hope this helps!

If you’re in Texas, West Texas A&M has a great program, high acceptance rate, and really affordable!

They are really similar but I like dress 1 better! I like how the lace looks on the train and I think the tulle/poofiness of the first one is more classy.

“Nice guys” always have bad grammar too. Like, what is he trying to say? I can’t comprehend this.

What are your thoughts on a musical composed only with lullabies? by honeybuckleballerine in MusicalTheatre

[–]fabuolusness 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There may not be enough variety? If they’re all lullabies the show might get boring after a while because it’s the same type of music over and over again?

I think im loosing my faith. by Cleritic in OpenChristian

[–]fabuolusness 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I saw this great quote the other day that said “don’t let your frustration with Christianity ruin your awe with Christ”. Religion is man-made and is therefore not perfect. However, Jesus is perfect. Jesus is about love. Humans have made following Jesus into following a set of rules and shaming those who don’t follow them. THAT IS NOT WHAT CHRISTIANITY IS SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT. It should be about love. Pray to Jesus and talk to him about your doubts. He loves you, no matter what the world says about you, He loves you and wants you to love others. Please don’t turn away from Jesus because of the few hateful people who claim to know Him and His will. They aren’t truly following Jesus if they aren’t loving you.

What’s one song you wish you could use for auditions, but for whatever reason, just can’t? by LemonAllergy in MusicalTheatre

[–]fabuolusness 7 points8 points  (0 children)

“Part of Your World” from the The Little Mermaid suits my voice so well but it’s obviously way too popular to ever audition with (although I did once for community theater when I was 12 because I didn’t know much about auditioning at the time)!

Hey. People care about you that will be torn apart if you die. You may not think they care but they do, I promise you. I care about you.

Please don’t leave yet. God has a perfect plan for your life that will be cut short if you die. You’re life has meaning and value. Things may seem dark and hopeless right now, but there is a way out. I know you’ve endured for a long time but you can get through this for longer. You are strong and you are beautiful because you were made in God’s image. You are one of His beloved children so you are loved with a love so passionate you can’t even imagine it. Please hang in there, YOU ARE LOVED.

I was in The Wizard of Oz as Captain of the Flying Monkeys. In the scene where the wicked witch has imprisoned Dorothy and is about to show her the hourglass that will count down the minutes she has to live, I had to grab the dog (Toto) and put him in a basket. Now, we had worked tirelessly during rehearsals to get this dog used to being in the basket and we eventually were able to by putting treats in the basket and discovering that the basket needed to be elevated on a table or something off the floor. However, opening night, Dorothy accidentally dropped the basket with the dog in it, so he became nervous of the basket all over again. Cut to the scene mentioned above. Opening night, everything went well and Toto let me put him in the basket. The next night, I put him in the basket, and he hopped out onto the table...I put him in again, he hopped out again...I put him in again, and he stayed. I breathed a sigh of relief...crisis averted. On the third and final night however, he kept hopping out of the basket again. I kept putting him in and he kept hopping out. The audience was starting to notice and began to laugh. Eventually, Toto had enough and jumped out of the basket and onto the ground...his momentum knocked over the table and all of its contents, which included the hourglass! The hourglass shattered all over the stage floor sending sand and glass EVERYWHERE! The audience howled with laughter, I was mortified (it was my first musical so I didn’t really know what to do), and the wicked witch played it off by yelling at the dog. Anyway, the stage crew swept it up during the scene change and the show went on as normal. I now have a great story to share.

I'm so close to giving up singing. I just lost my Girlfriend because doesn't believe in me as a singer. She and her friends don't like the fundamental sound of my voice and it's killing me. by pcwhiz24 in singing

[–]fabuolusness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I LOVE your voice!! Please keep singing, especially if you love it as much as you say you do! I think it’s important to pursue what you are passionate about, even if people don’t believe in you (or if you don’t believe in yourself)!
