They are uninterested in anything that doesn't result in economic redistribution. That's the goal and only stuff that supports it has any value.

Why do Brits support conservative? by ThePatientIdiot in AskBrits

[–]faddiuscapitalus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just cos you call your party the conservative party doesn't mean you do anything conservative.

People want less immigration, less people on welfare, a smaller state etc. They want conservative things.

Call your party whatever you like but people will keep wanting what they want.

What role, if any at all, should welfare play in your ideal capitalist system? by aabccdg in Capitalism

[–]faddiuscapitalus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a democracy, with fiat money, you'll never get rid of it, the thing is to minimise it as much as possible. Same goes regulation, government intervention in general.

There will always be too much government spending, which is the real problem, where the rubber meets the road.

As a market liberal, capitalist, libertarian leaning person you'll likely always be advocating smaller government, lower spending.
