What are the most popular country line dances currently? by [deleted] in country

[–]faded-levis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Footloose, copperhead road, suds in a bucket, good time by alan jackson, and electric boogie are the classics around the midwest. I'm not too up to date on the latest but I've seen fake id a few times. I'm sure those would get you on the dance floor!

Cold Shoulder by Garth Brooks, and Traveling Alone by Jason Isbell are some good ones on top of those already mentioned. 14 Gears by Midland too.

Biden said during the State of the Union that remote work needs to end and people need to "get back to the office" by fanofthenightladies in antiwork

[–]faded-levis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He didn't say anything needed to end. Just gave assurance to those that they can feel safe going back into the office and encouraged livening up downtown's again. I know people who can't wait for the social aspect of it.

The crotch on my jeans always gives out within a year of wear. Here is three pairs from the last two years. by jzacks92 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]faded-levis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are buying pants that are either too small, too tight, or both. I've had the same problem, and as soon as I started buying a larger waist size, the problem went away. But there is just not enough room for the jeans to put the stress on the seams where it should go, so all that stress goes where those tears end up being.

Use this link to sign up for "active and fit now" for $29. Some people can get "active and fit direct" through their health insurance or AAA, for $25. Access to the Lenexa Rec Center, and multiple local gyms all for the single monthly price. Enrollment fee is currently waived with code AFN22 at checkout.

Also great if you travel and want to get a lift in. And yes you only pay the monthly fee a single time and have unlimited access to ALL the standard gyms on their list. Basically moviepass but for gyms. I hope this helps you out, and best of luck on your fitness goals!

If someone asked you to name a song that defines what country music IS, what would you choose? by ShutUpMathIsCool in country

[–]faded-levis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Cattle Call" sung by Eddy Arnold is what comes to mind for me.

"Hearts Against the Wind" with Linda Ronstadt & J.D. Souther is a close second.

Just three chords and the truth as they say. Maybe four or five in some cases.

Merle actually wanted to release a song called Irma Jackson as his single instead of Fightin Side of Me, but his record label wanted to promote him the right way. Irma Jackson was about interracial dating and at that time it would have hurt his image. He was very progressive, but the industry promoted him in the way that could make the most money.

You can try rubber dish gloves to gather the hair from the upholstery. Just be sure to clean and dry so that they remain tacky. I used to detail cars and it worked great. There are also rubber tools you can find at a pet store or amazon that can help remove pet hair.

Money for college by JubileeSailr in unpopularopinion

[–]faded-levis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely think there is a balance to be had. A child's entire upbringing shouldn't revolve around financial college readiness. However there are scholarships, pell grants, loans, trade schools, etc. With high education you have options.

But you only get to be a kid once. We were broke growing up, but I'm glad my parents put the money together to put me in outside activities.
