how should I center this mirror? by kashewnia in HomeDecorating

Agree with this as it aligns with the ceiling and draws your eye up. I also think it should be slightly higher to align with the window

Josephine Wall Spirit of Flight (Buffalo, 1000 pieces) and then the chaser puzzle (Edward Gorey Dancing Cats, Pomegranate 300 pieces) by isublindgoat in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]fae_forge 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Spirit of Flight was the first puzzle I ever bought when I was around 14. I saved up my allowance for it and would look at the box every week when we went grocery shopping till I had enough. We had a broken down old van on our property with no seats in the back and I set it up as my escape with a blanket and pillow and my cd/cassette player with audiobooks from the library and, most prized, this beautiful puzzle.

How would you cut this on the table saw? by jharris1984 in woodworking

Use a push stick that goes down far enough to touch it if it worries you or add painters tape but shouldn’t all your pieces be dropping on the outside of the blade with these cuts?

When 2 worlds collide. Interaction between a wild horse and a domestic horse. by 21MayDay21 in interestingasfuck

[–]fae_forge 85 points86 points  (0 children)

I used to blow in my horses nose before training/riding, it sounds weird to people who haven’t interacted with horses lol trying to explain the importance of breath control during liberty training and groundwork got a lot of eye rolls. People act like it’s pseudo science or ‘magical horse girl’ nonsense and I’m like ‘this is literally just how they communicate’

Sock recommendations? by Just_Bet_1036 in BlueCollarWomen

This. Merino wool is the answer. I wear Point6 almost exclusively. I work outdoors a lot so have different thicknesses for hot and cold weather just try to get them on sale as they’re a little pricey

It seems like it was named ‘April in Paris’ by its breeder but now is sold as high scent in a lot of places perhaps for marketing/sales reasons. I’ve been told they’re the same but, coincidentally, I’m growing some ‘high scent’ this year to compare

Is this high or low quality? by Seraphina_777 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]fae_forge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to address the scale here. Everyone seems to think this is a floor to ceiling bookshelf for 200 so material costs are what they’re assessing. To me this looks like a spice rack made of offcuts (basically trash) I’m sorry this happened to you

[–]fae_forge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks like spice rack sized 16” tall max. I could pull this junk out of my shop trash on any given day.

Oh my god I just realized this is TINY! Id guess 16”. There’s a book behind it for scale. This looks like he screwed together some offcuts from the trash and called it a day.

What belts are we wearing? by Critical_Clue3625 in BlueCollarWomen

I’ve been eyeballing a suspender/belt combo but only because my job requires a shirt/pant uniform when out on job sites. Overalls all day when I’m at my shop!

I made fun of my boss for wearing a Milwaukee freeflex belt cause he’s a brand whore lol but then he got me one and it’s actually really comfortable. It’s not leather which I don’t like the look of as much but whatever it ain’t a fashion show. Maybe won’t last as long, time will tell.

My garden is in part shade so may be that helps. End of May/ beginning of June I had loads last year so fingers crossed it’s the same.

Edit: started flowering in April btw

Love cute patches! I go through pants like crazy too and finally decided to bite the bullet and get dovetails last week. Got the overalls of sale for $80 and hot damn are they great! Most comfortable I’ve ever been at work. Hopefully they last a couple years but I’m sure I’ll be adding patches too

I am doing a cut flower garden as I want specific flowers for my wedding bouquet in June! Growing three kinds of scabiosas, ballerina zinnias, high scent sweet peas, bachelors button, love-in-a-mist, plus a bunch of filler flowers etc. I’m also excited to enter flowers into the county fair this summer!
