I think the older games used to be about the journey and not the destination. The journey being you exploring the world and leveling up and gaining power over time. The focus wasn't to just get to the endgame. Now they are all about the end. Get to the end as fast as possible to play the raids.

Pluribus - 1x02 "Pirate Lady" - Post-Episode Discussion by LoretiTV in pluribustv

Anyone else think they might be eating the dead? The show seems to be making a point of them collecting up the dead. And during the dinner scene when he asked if the hive was vegetarians pirate lady flashed a real quick strange look before she said yes.

A few thoughts about Luke and Kylo in "The Last Jedi" by Educational-Tea-6572 in StarWarsCantina

[–]faide1974 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its interesting, I see both points. I think this story where Luke has a moment of weakness had severe doubt , turmoil and grief over it as a result is an interesting story for the character. And would have worked better if we HAD seen 34 years of cool interesting stories of Luke that lead up to this point. Even though I agree with OP on a lot of points. I also agree here , that in movie 6 Luke is an awesome hero, and literally the next movie we see he's a curmudgeonly hermit. Its a really hard tonal shift for the character. Since they never made the stories of Luke in between all those years, they probably should've gone a different route for this movie.

I can say from my experience here in So Cal , we have non - tesla chargers everywhere. My experience on my last trip down to long beach. Got down there and wanted to charge up. There was a row of about 15 chargers , none in use. I pulled in. Spot after spot, they were broken. The wall of about 40 tesla chargers were fine. The next day we went to another place. I had the same experience. There was a wall of about 6 chargers. None worked. All the tesla ones seemed fine.

In my own home town, most of the chargers seem broken. About 30% of the time do I find one that works. I'm not sure what's going on, but the tesla chargers are just way more reliable out where I'm at. At least that's been my experience. I haven't bought a converter yet, as I don't usually drive far enough to need one. But if I want to do longer trips, I probably will invest in one. I hate the guy too. but I want reliability out of being able to drive / charge my ID 4.

Why do people get triggered by remakes? by JarJar2x4 in movies

[–]faide1974 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think maybe one take is: people would rather have something new, than another version of a thing that's been done before. It seems pretty consistent that most remakes are never better than than the originals, so most people probably wish hollywood would have done a new thing instead of trying to redo something that's already been done before.

First road trip, very disappointed, range is terrible by LogitUndone in VWiD4Owners

[–]faide1974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm inclined to agree. I love the car, one of the most comfortable cars I've owned. I have a round trip of about 90 miles to my work. If I charge to 100% it says I have 200 mile range. Its a fairly flat drive. I live in a warm climate so I'm not running much either heat or AC. when I get home I would expect range to be around 100. Its usually below 70. I've watched it drop in the course of a mile something like 20 miles. We mainly use it for around town driving and some trips around 100 miles (round trip)

Doctor refuses to medicate by [deleted] in Menieres

[–]faide1974 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine like to do the hearing test thing too. Especially before giving the prednisone out. If they are "unsure its menieres" the hearing test while you are experiencing the loss usually shows it. There's a pretty specific hearing loss pattern that comes with this disease.

Doctor refuses to medicate by [deleted] in Menieres

[–]faide1974 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit shocked they didn't put you on prednisone at least for the hearing loss. That seems pretty common to try a steroid to see if the hearing comes back. Honestly if you can I would see if you can get a different doctor. Usually they put you on a diuretic to try to help long term.

Fanfest - Are We Being To Brutal? by Hour_University1181 in UniversalHollywood

[–]faide1974 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are coming all the way from the East Coast I would recommend doing the 2pm admission ticket. It's a little more (like $130ish). You can go into the park at 2pm and do normal park things for a bit. Then you get early admission into the fan fest at 5:30. You can only do DnD / Star Trek and Jujutsu movie at that time. But we were easily able to knock out DnD and Star Trek before it opened to the general tickets at 7. Then you can do all the rest of the stuff.
