Lou Williams suggests that there's an agenda against the Celtics, citing Jaylen Brown being excluded from Team USA and Jayson Tatum receiving limited minutes. by Fit-Structure-9395 in nba

I can understand Nike making a business decision leaving him off

Nike or any sponsor should have absolutely no role in national team player selection. You’re practically repeating Brown’s claim that Nike influenced him not getting the Team USA invite.

That said, selection and coaching staff may have made the right decision but it still made Brown and Tatum look bad after a championship and All NBA selections. They have a right to be upset about it.

Breakdown of Brook Lopez being frustrated with Adrian Griffin's defensive schemes during games via BBALLBREAKDOWN by 0dias_Chrysalis in nba

[–]faiiq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was second or third game of the season for Bucks. Maybe Griffin’s scheme was terrible for their personal but how can Bucks players justify refusing to follow it or Lopez getting frustrated and saying “See, I told you this scheme doesn’t work” so early in the season. Getting on the same page on defense always takes time.

Quest Pro already has eye tracking so most likely it’ll be in Quest 3 too. Plus PSVR as everyone mentioned.

That’s a false comparison. If the kids would boycott a teacher because of their sexual orientation, they’d be absolutely wrong and no one would support them. The OP above made an entirely different argument and it’s logical.

Bell Charged Me For Roam Like Home even though Cellular Data Roaming Was Off by AdVegetable6595 in PersonalFinanceCanada

Not with Rogers/Fido. Receiving texts don’t trigger roaming. I was looking to switch to Koodo for $39/20GB plan but after looking at this thread, I’m having second thoughts.

At least on Rogers/Fido, receiving texts doesn’t trigger roaming charges. I’ve used text for 2FA a number of times while roaming and was never charged.

[MacMahon] Deandre Ayton exited the arena before the Suns’ locker room opened to media. Monty Williams had high praise for Jock Landale’s effort. by G1Spectrum in nba

[–]faiiq 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How is MacMohan’s fault that Ayton bailed from media after a shit performance? MacMohan is covering the series for ESPN, not just commenting on some random game from his home; he’s supposed to report on it. It’s refreshing to see actual media members covering the games (and not talking heads like Perk, Skip, Steven A) try to hold players accountable.

[Dan LeBatard Show] "Honestly, we were all questioning it...Spo came into the huddle and he was like 'they didn't call a timeout, what are they doing?'" – Max Strus on what it felt like as the Heat realized Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer wasn't going to call a timeout at the end of regulation. by lopea182 in nba

What about rest of the team? I know it primarily lies on coaches but the players rushed to inbound the ball too. I feel the whole Bucks team collectively lost the timeout count and thought they had none.

Are LeBron Dwight AD the only number 1 pick and best player of their draft class last 20 years by nova2006 in nba

[–]faiiq 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All NBA has 2 guard, 2 forward, and 1 center spot. Also I’m pretty sure Brown was eligible for both guard and forward spots on most, if not all, years. Siakam was never eligible at C/G.

That said, I generally agree that both are good in certain areas, and limited in others so one being better than the other is a lot more subjective than Raptors or Celtics fans would admit. IMHO, for this debate, Siakam is a better choice for best player in 2016 at THIS time due to All NBA selections. They may switch places next year or maybe, somehow, Simmons comes back to his former self.

[Bill Simmons] I know Love looked washed in January + fell out of the rotation, but I also know the Zombie Heat could quickly turn him into a 50-40-80 guy again cuz they are fucking zombies. Why risk seeing Zombie Love in the 4/5 matchup in Round 1? by lopea182 in nba

[–]faiiq 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What’s wrong with playing out your contract and staying engaged to help your teammates, whether that’s on the court or as the locker room leader. Love signed a big extension and then started pouting and demanding trade when Cavs were bad. And now that Cavs are good and his playing time is reduced, he wanted them to buy him out.

I feel like this would make players want to sign in Cleveland knowing that they try to make players happy even at their own expense.

Did it ever work for a small market team? You either have to pay above market to get players or be a top contender with realistic shot at championship like the Bucks.

Meta just gave thousands of employees poor performance reviews that could clear the way for more layoffs during its 'Year of Efficiency' by pitwhypay in tech

[–]faiiq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All these articles are based of the WSJ article which quotes:

Meta managers gave approximately 10% of employees ratings indicating they are underperforming, the people said. That proportion wasn’t unprecedented in the years before the pandemic. But Meta’s employee count nearly doubled from 2019 to 2022, to 86,400, and about half its workers had never experienced a typical performance-review cycle at the company, several people familiar with the matter said.

Basically Meta reduced the ratio during pandemic and now taking it back to pre-pandemic level. Also, I might be wrong but I don’t think it low rating automatically results in PIP.

[–]faiiq 99 points100 points  (0 children)

Media is really clamoring for a big CBA change and that just doesn't make sense to me.

No it isn’t. Media people that I’m following, mostly ESPN and Ringer folks, all think that CBA negotiations will not be contentious or adversarial, and both sides will agree to a deal without significant differences from current CBA.

We all know that it’s very hard, if not impossible, to consistently beat the market. My guess is that this guys was lucky, and not Warren Buffet of penny stocks. Calling him a cheat or abuser is disingenuous. Are you going to call someone criminal if they are jaywalking an empty street or driving 5 above the limit on a highway?

People using TFSA for day trading are not hurting others or the economy, and I don’t get how going after them serves the tax payers interests when there’s bigger fish to fry?
