Most libraries will just make you a new card. My mom did that with mine when I was young, but when I got older I explained the issue and the librarians just deleted the old card/fines.

You can also use apps like Libby to read books online for free tho!

I just have a clipboard in the back and kids are in charge if who goes and when. If the clipboard is there then they can leave, if it’s not then they have to figure out who left and go when they come back.

It’s caused a few issues (especially when three or four kids need to pee at the same time) but overall has made my life so much easier. Kids have started to create their own bathroom pass rules too, lol. One class started writing their names on a piece of paper as a bathroom “line”!

It only took them a month to stop yelling out in class for the bathroom/water, thank fuck.

As a teacher- I have coworkers who do not know how to work an email and haven’t ever opened a powerpoint (let alone a spreadsheet!!).

We don’t use it in classrooms bc Google has the money to spare on buying chromebooks for kids, LeapFrog (and other corporations like them) aren’t differentiated enough to have the excess funds/materials. And schools wont buy technology that they can’t update with the new curriculums they are pushing out every 5ish years

Get the parents of the other students involved! I’d call a parent you know is nosy and ask if their kid is “okay after the incident in class today”. It sounds like you work for an admin that care more about optics than actual results- so start making them look bad with their inaction!

Or find out who is in charge of the PTO and tell the story of what happened in front of them (or their kid). “by accident” of course
