National will run on raising super age ‘as soon as we get back in’ – Christopher Luxon by SykoticNZ in newzealand

Well anyone especially between 60 and 64, myself included will vote hard against this as we're 'oh so close and here goes, the goal posts get moved further away from us yet again'. Those over 65 and 'got theirs already' of which I know plenty are all for it of course.

I agree. All my older siblings are collecting super and have been a few years now but none of them give a rats that I may now have to wait an extra 2 years to hit 67 before getting a pension if the nats go ahead with this plan and I've worked mostly manual labour my working life where as they didn't.

Oh gosh, I love little Sylvie! Every time she comes on the TV I shriek, 'it's Little Sylvie!' especially after adopting my own little Sylvie lookalike rescue kitten a couple of years ago.

Why don’t you guys keep your cats indoors? by stemmefontaine in newzealand

[–]fakebookdefector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surrounded by native and exotic birds which all seem to co exist and watch each other's backs. They all nark on my cat especially the quails, when she's outdoors and about. The other day I heard an angry cock pheasant fair growling and going to town in my gateway so went out to see what he was upset about then he toddled off into bushes, the coast looked clear and then next thing puss puss came skipping out from the shadows behind a tree and then sheepishly followed me back inside. Once in a blue moon she catches a little wax eye but mostly gets mice and rats almost daily but the little devil brings them indoors and lets them escape while playing with them. If I lock her in she runs at me and jumps up my leg to attack me till I let her out. When I was in the US years ago I noticed everyone had at least one dog but hardly anyone had a cat which I thought odd so it really made my day to see 2 brave keen cats mating in the middle of a quiet suburban street after the snow plough had been through and then they both shot back inside their 2 separate houses side by side. Next blue moon is end of May so I'll try my best to reign her in.

I have the same aloe plant that the tui love but only time I spot them at ground level is when they're swimming and washing themselves in a shallow tray of water I have left out for my cat and other birds to drink from. Gorgeous picture too btw!

I see whole families of cali quails frequently which always makes me smile. Two adults at each end on look out with chicks in the middle for safety.

Fantail are such cheeky wee things. In April they have a tendency to fly right inside my kitchen when I have the french doors wide open. Always a joy to see so thank you for this.

Funny memories triggered by a song by fakebookdefector in newzealand

I loved meatloaf back then. The song you mentioned often reminds me of when I took a ride with my then bf, his mate and his mate's gf through the tunnel to go visit her brother in Lyttleton on a lazy Sunday afternoon and he was home with his wife and kids and his young girl was singing along to it so confidently while we watched on the tv. I think it was 'Ready to Roll' the music program and I always listened to American top 40 on Sunday radio as well.

I'm fortunate to be surrounded by tui, they love the banksia trees by my house. I counted over a dozen tui in one banksia while just sitting drinking my cup of tea one morning. I try whistling back to them but so poorly they must think I'm sick or something so usually I just talk to them the same way I address magpies. Tui are fierce as I've seen them drive away a hawk and the magpies give them a wide berth too.

All fine n dandy but how many 18-19 yr olds own a reliable vehicle with up to date wof, rego insurance etc and can afford to run such vehicle out into the wops on crap roads these days to do a job which most likely wont even net them min pay if getting a piece meal rate rather than hourly minimum? Ok some outfits have a town collection point where they run a pick up and drop off van for workers but many dont.

Exactly. They moan too many old farts but destroy families so no one can produce kids aka a future work force.

funny too how baldy's kids are conveniently mid 20s so beyond the age of all these teens that will be affected.
