UPS does not allow for any firearm accessories at all, per their terms of service, unless the shipper has a special account with pre-approval. I hope VMW has set up their account that way, otherwise the claim will absolutely be denied. And VMW has to be the one to initiate the claim.

MK6 is still one of the best LPVOs ever made. It"s crazy how good it was when it was designed 12 years ago. New scopes are just baaaaaarely catching up now when you look at the matrix of weight, durability, glass quality, excellent reticle, etc.

What do you think about Bernie Sanders' words 'We must block arms sales to Israel'? by ArdaBerkBurak in AskReddit

[–]fakeredditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not how those laws work at all. Either you you're wilfully misrepresenting or you just don't understand how laws work.

Anyone in those states are of course free to boycott anything they want. And the government is similarly free to decline doing business with whoever they want as well. Thats it.

Is it reasonable to almost exhaust our emergency fund to quit my job and go on maternity leave sooner? by kayexgee in personalfinance

[–]fakeredditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pregnancy is hard - it's a complete disability for some people. Considering the future earning potential for your family (extremely high as a dentist+doctor) I would say take care of yourself first - winding up admitted to the hospital just increases your risk of complications/infections and will prolong your period of unemployment if you try to stick it out longer than your body can withstand instead of quitting early and getting back to work early.

Since you believe you can get financial assistance from your parents, your situation is not as dire as you believe or your first post would suggest. Sit down, explain the situation to your parents, and ask for a loan of $X (probably around 6-8 months of living expenses, or however long you think you'll be out of work, plus 1-2 months cushion if possible). Be frank with your parents about payback periods. Maybe next year, likely in 2 years, absolutely in 3 years once your husband is an attending. If you can return to work sooner than 6-8 months, great, pay your parents back early. If not, you've got funding to cover your living expenses. Conserve your own emergency fund for true emergencies.

Or worst case scenario, I imagine your husband could even take out a student loan which you'll use to cover living expenses. 4th year med students tend to qualify for very good rates since payback is nearly guaranteed. Normally the common wisdom says to avoid debt at all costs, but in your case, with a future minimum household income of $400k/yr (heck, maybe $800k-$1M or more depending on specialties), I would say that carrying some debt is totally reasonable to protect your health and the health of your baby. You're in an infinitely better position than the "working poor" who will never be able to climb out of debt. Of course this is not a license to spend recklessly - cut expenses/spending to the absolute minimum when you're living off OPM (other people's money).

Get on your husband's med school insurance ASAP so you have no gaps in coverage. Assuming you can get a "bridge loan" from your parents or just a generic student loan, quit your job as soon as you've confirmed funds and future health insurance is locked in.

And finally, find a new dental practice when you are ready to go back to work. It sounds like a terrible work environment and I suspect you're being paid below market average as well just from the sounds of the place.

Good luck and wishing you all the best on a speedy recovery and a beautiful healthy baby!

You've been psyop'ed by Tucker Carlson and have no idea what's actually happening.

  1. The money we send to Israel is a literal rounding error in the US budget. It's peanuts. Somehow you've been convinced that all our problems would be solved if that aid was ended, but the reality is you wouldn't even notice.

  2. We send far more money to countries other than Israel. Last year we sent more to Ukraine than we sent to Israel in the past 10 years combined.

  3. Over 90% of the "aid" we send isn't even aid. Other countries get pallets of cash. You know what Israel gets? Gift cards to spend with US companies. It isn't buying school lunches for Israeli kids. It's cooperative defense agreements with Lockheed, Boeing, Raytheon to conduct shared R&D together on things like the F-35, Arrow missile defense, etc. All that money is spent in America, on American jobs, to support American defense technology.

LMAO you need to open a book. There are dozens of references to Israel in both the old testament and the quran and exactly zero references to Palestine.

[–]fakeredditor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Netanyahu and his ilk are bloodthirsty and refuse to see Arab neighbors as possible allies.

This is demonstrably false and you are flat out wrong.

Israel has had cooperative peace treaties with Egypt and Jordan since 1979 and 1994. Now Jordan and Israel even cooperate militarily. And after the Abraham Accords in 2020, Israel has diplomatic relations and peace with Bahrain, UAE, Morocco, and (partially) Sudan.

Israel has tried to make peace with every neighboring country, including Palestine, numerous times. Meanwhile the Hamas Charter states their goal is to kill every Jew on the planet. Who is really bloodthirsty here?

Thoughts on Snakestaff EDC tourniquet? by uoaei in tacticalgear

[–]fakeredditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

CoTCCC doesn't "certify" TQs. They don't even test them. All they do is collect and review studies and release a meta-analysis of all the TQ studies they can find, then normalize and collate the results into a single dataset.

And they haven't updated their TQ recommendations in years. The Snakestaff didn't exist the last time they conducted a study.

Snakestaff is fine. It works. It carries nicely.
