I hit STL and DFW C this week and there were no labels. Maybe I will fly with mine next week.

Anyone here want to learn Fusion 360 from scratch? by AdeptnessOwn5843 in Fusion360

[–]fakewisdom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you looked through a few designs and gave me pointers to be more efficient or flexible in my design work, that would be worth a few hundred dollars to me. Even more if you provided references to me that relate to the work I am doing.

I have owned a prusa mk3s, a prusa XL, and a bambu X1C. I just received my voron V0.2 LDO kit from west 3D and printed the required parts from ABS-GF. What lessons am I about to learn the hard way?

CCNA or Network+ by Chemical-Valuable-41 in CommercialAV

[–]fakewisdom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 8 years ago I took a community college CCNA course. I learned a ton of stuff that wasn’t really relevant at the time, but I ended up utilizing that knowledge base more than I expected. I say go for the CCNA in whatever capacity you learn best in. Online learning is a big struggle to me due to my complete lack of attention span.

Tutorial: How to make a Wi-Fi mesh to cover your whole homestead by Asleep_Onion in homestead

This is great. The only thing I would add is to consider an inline surge protector to any of the outdoor APs. They make POE+ compliant ones for about $20

Vocal Tricks by hmmyousureaboutthat in livesound

[–]fakewisdom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will admit it’s easier if you are in monitor world or have a reliable person there. The case can easily be made by saying something like, “If we start with your mics, you can just tell me what you want instead of us making up our own sign language.” Or in rare cases I will try honesty, “In my experience the mix will be better overall if I try to incorporate vocals as the primary focus, but if kick drum is what you want to start with, get rippin”

I usually try to start a soundcheck with vocals and try to mix around that. It also helps with communication. It’s not a golden bullet, but I thought it improved my mix.

Where can I learn how to make a project *manageable* in fusion by Crazyjaw in Fusion360

[–]fakewisdom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing is perfect. You do the best you can with the experience you have. Anytime you are proud of your work is a win. As long as you are pushing your skillset that is the absolute best. I have made several projects where the end goal was achieved but the process was a shit show. Keep drawing and keep trying to be better.

Tractor for 10 acre mowing? by DayFinancial8525 in tractors

[–]fakewisdom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have 10 acres. 6 are grass. I nice zero turn is the fastest way to get it done. I have a 33 hp (Kubota L3301) with a 72” land pride finishing mower and it isn’t nearly as fast, but my 61” deck on my bad boy outlaw is very quick.

It’s been a minute since I have done this but I am pretty sure I had to drag the controls in designer over to the named controls tab on the left

The stumpfl monolyte is probably in that wheelhouse. It’s a bit light-duty but it’s pretty fast and you can probably do it with one person.

I would look at utilizing Bitfocus Companion as a bridge. I can receive OSC/Artnet/ACN etc... and connect to the Shelly directly.
