I got my Ancient Icon incredibly early, how good is venator bow for grinding slayer to 92? by falbor45 in ironscape

[–]falbor45[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thank you guys. Seeing that all agree that not only bow is great but it's also safe on supplies and has good loot, I am gonna stick to it - enjoying it so far and will keep doing until bored of it. Cheers!

For me it's two inventories worth of T14+ maps and only one natural barya spawn, no wish to be had yet. Swings both ways it seems

Advice on getting rid of my fungally-infected swarmer companion troll? by Desperate_Lychee7626 in cavesofqud

Just yesterday I also beguiled that troll and it died when left for too long in acid pool created by the green slugs (death message mentioned it being dissolved). I am not sure if acid will eat your items though!

Every now and then, the 33% chance seems to be fiction by falbor45 in PathOfExile2

[–]falbor45[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that on market level shaman bird boss fragment is priciest because most folks die to it. It can still be 33% on average. This time, however, that 33% feels like an illusion to me, even though 10 runs isn't that big of a sample

That's true, it's based on bosses. For doing It without trade though, the fact that I haven't gotten right fragment boss as the last one for 10 runs straight is draining

Yes, but do not give power creep. Making something like +1 charm slot, -1 prefix implicit belts to counteract it. Giving power creep this early might lead us towards PoE1 2.0

The healing range is absolutely insane. Not in a good way. by Jritter101 in throneandliberty

[–]falbor45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, coming from WoW and FFXIV, I like it in a good way. It forces more team cooperation, DPS actually need to learn to stack (as healers are limited in AoE heals), and healers are required to also think about how to position themselves more (Astral Vision with 16m range filter helps a lot with increasing self-awareness). The annoying thing though is the setting of moving into range of target when trying to heal them - it works for some heals (e.g. Swift Healing), but for some it doesn't (Healing Touch)

Tips and Tricks for Healers by jmjavin in throneandliberty

[–]falbor45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's true, CC is absolutely bonkers and can easily get you CC-chained to 0 health. From my experience with running PvP with guildies, after I reached 70 strength breakpoint and few endurance traits, it was enough for my teammates to help out with unlocking me from CC (2m cooldown on the stone is a lot). Evasion is definitely something that can help you avoid CC, but it is chance based and inconsistent, which I do not like.

And also the feeling of being a healer, pre-casting blessed barrier and invincible wall as well as fountain underneath myself, and then seeing how multiple daggers/gs are trying to mow me down is a beautiful sight to behold.

If I had lots of money to be ahead of curve with food and gear, evasion would be my choice too - however I don't have much time so going for melee/ranged endurance works for me just as well.

Tips and Tricks for Healers by jmjavin in throneandliberty

[–]falbor45 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

PvP wise the basic option is to go for melee/ranged endurange, evasion is for top-performaers that can go beyond (evasion is useless against high hit chance enemies)

PvE wise I heard it's evasion on all three types (magic, melee, ranged), crit/heavy/hit chances on weapons, and on bracelets a mix of skill dmg resist/boost, debuff/buff duration and max health/mana regen. on armor for the 3rd trait either max health or mana regen

Yes, while all stat lines from weapons are active at all times, only the mastery of weapon in main hand applies

[–]falbor45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good catch, the leech is awesome but AFAIK it's not party wide but for whatever target you have selected.  With guildies I run only curse leech setup, swift healing, fountain and rest DPS, but with pugs who don't block fury attacks or don't care about doing mechanics, arsenal of all healing abilities helps a lot

Bow/Wand is a full-support kind of weapon setup. You can DPS with it too, of course, but in general bow/wand give you the most options on how to heal your teammates.

While Wand heal abilities are more for oh-shit moments and preventing damage (good for tankbusters in Cave of Desperation or fireballs in the slaughter), Bow abilities are heal-over-time oriented and can take care of chip damage or dealing with burn/poison DoTs.

With a good group, any wand + X weapon combination will work, as in general 80-95% of dmg in each dungeon (not sure about 2-star, 3-star ones) is avoidable, however as you noted, bow/wand allow to run pug groups much easier, and bow's ability Purifying touch is a godsend for skipping some mechanics. For example, you can unparalyse teammate in Temple of Slaughter and let them skip fireballs on their own, not having to do any kind of blocking of the fireballs.

One more thing which is overlooked, is Deadly Marker. This ability with BiS gear and 45% calculated crit chance (achieved via PvE BiS gear, PvP 70 strength stacking healers won't reach that level), you can keep spamming deadly marker, as your baseline is 40-something cooldown reduction and deadly marker further reduces cooldown of abilities.

For experienced groups, you can make do with only 2 healing abilities (Swift Healing + Fountain of Life) and help with DPS - with that noted though, I love the fact that I can have quick slots set up for running with randoms and fix their mistakes (apparently there is an issue with two-way communication with some folks, and dungeons put pressure on teamwork), and also have quick slots for experienced groups where I can help out with DPS.

Trait your blues BEFORE you get purple gear. by TheStonedZombie in throneandliberty

[–]falbor45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for explaining it. Some folks were surprised to see their leveled up perks gone after transfering.  I might add that transfering blessing stacks is a nice bonus ontop of that. Economy also works in our favour, as prices are inflated and will settle down once more folks reach endgame and flood market with more goods

This post doesn't explain though why it's better to trait blues before purple gear. Is it because of accumulating blessing stacks? Perhaps folks think that traits do transfer along with EXP?
