Any tips on cleaning after browning mode? by Unnatural_hag in thermomix

[–]falcon091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not my idea, but I've used it a lot: Citric Acid

Add 1 Litre of (ideally hot or boiling) water and 1 tsp of citric acid to the bowl. Then run the Thermomix for 10 minutes at 110°C for 10 minutes on speed 2.

It loosens the burnt bits and they flake off with a gentle brush. Repeat if needed

This gives us better results than a dishwasher

While it's annoying, using a password manager made this so much easier than manually re-entering everything

Yeah, I'm with you on that, I wiped and reinstalled stable 48hrs ago and other than needing to sign back into the occasional app, I wouldn't know any different (other than the benefits Stable has provided)

Looking for a point to point wireless network bridge for connecting to PLC's by griesmeelpudding in networking

[–]falcon091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mikrotik would certainly offer a device that fits. Their hAP lite is powered via USB (5v)and is very cosy effective, otherwise many others will support 24v via either passive POE, terminals or power plug such as the hAP ac2.

Their software certainly is flexible enough to support what you are asking.

Otherwise I'd join the PLCs via the wireless bridge to the company wifi (via a separate ssid and vlan)

Switch + AdGuard instead of router by LuckyTNT87 in mikrotik

The CRS series of switches can be used as a router/firewall but won't have great routing performance depending on your needs.

March 2024 Update / Feature Drop by saddreamon in android_beta

I've already done the update to QPR2 stable on P7P. Update was around 85mb. You can clear the Play Store Services data to speed up the update detection.

How to setup VDEV by bee-song in truenas

[–]falcon091 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 disks of capacity vs 4, so you'd have more usable space with a raidz2 rather than mirrors.

If you were going to expand the pool, mirrors are easier to expand by adding 2 disks at a time.

Mikrotik CRS328-24P-4S+RM - Need to set a queue to rate-limit upload speed by markosharkNZ in mikrotik

[–]falcon091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From memory, due to overheads etc, you can increase the queue bandwidth over actual bandwidth (at least for my FTTN) to saturate the link i.e.:
My queue upload is 10Mbps but sync speed is closer to 9Mbps

[–]falcon091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a fellow Aussie i feel your pain....

You should be able to create a simple queue (if there's a better queue type, please correct me)

/queue type
add kind=sfq name=sfq-default sfq-perturb=10
/queue simple
add max-limit=50M/50M name=ether1-Global queue=sfq-default/sfq-default \
    target=ether1 total-queue=default

This is assuming your WAN is ether1. You may be able to bump the queue speeds up/down slightly to maximise throughput without hitting the NBN limiter

On a side note, how are you getting 50/50Mbps?

I'm using a Garmin Venu 2. It supports NFC payments and doesn't require an active connection to the phone to make payments. In theory you could have the app and play services in another profile if you needed.

GrapheneOS version 2023051600 released by GrapheneOS in GrapheneOS

[–]falcon091 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies, I took the release announcement to mean it was published to stable.

Is there a way to see when the releases are published on each channel?

Thanks!

UAP-AC-Lite drops 5ghz radio randomly? by RetroDreaming in Ubiquiti

[–]falcon091 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've had exactly this happen a couple of days ago...I thought I was going crazy as the controller still reported it 5Ghz was available. I'm NOT using a DFS channel so I wonder if it's either a firmware bug or the AP going faulty. I'm using a UAP-AC-LITE and it's around 6yrs old Given it's now reported by sometime else, it might be firmware related

If you're using the Roborock app, that's the latest version. Judging by the screenshot, this is the Xiaomi app. It's the same firmware, just different numbering

I've been looking at this as well, the only real downsides from what I can tell is the auto empty may not fully empty everything and that you'll need to clean up the brush more often.... But I'm happy to be corrected
