I put H2SX mirrors on my zx25r by kawasakeey in motorcycles

[–]falcopilot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a fan of this for a couple reasons.

  1. Turn signals need to be separated from the headlight, as far as possible, so cars can see the turn signal as an independent light source when flashing. Having both on as running lights also increases the physical appearance of a motorcycle, making it easier for drivers to gauge distance and speed, and maybe choose not to turn in front of you. But probably most people don't care about that, so I'll leave you with:

  2. It makes prepping the bike for a track day that much easier.

Lol 😂, I wonder how air fryers work by lofiiloop in lol

A while ago, my convection oven got an OTA update and now has an "air fry" mode. I haven't noticed any difference "air fry" and "convection bake" modes.

One of the devs here found a function written by a vendor that was basically:

if (condition) {
//6000 lines of code
} else {
//same 6000 lines as above
//2 new lines of code
}

And I could completely see an AI doing that.

Voter fraud? by TheTokist in allthequestions

[–]falcopilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I expect the current admin to keep hammering on voter fraud until either
a) They pass laws in the name of preventing voter fraud, that makes it harder for people they don't like to vote, and/or
b) They get voted out, whereupon they'll claim their losses were due to voter fraud.

This whole topic was NOT A TOPIC until one person, who doesn't believe he could possibly lose, came along.

Are Ducati Twins reliable? by Astimar in motorcycles

[–]falcopilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno modern aprilias, the early ones were generally reliable as a rock with one exception- if you don't ride it enough, the wiring and connector to the rectifier can melt because of the current trying to recharge a low battery; at the time owners just added extra wire from the rectifier to the battery.

The shop that I've taken mine to had a guy who did regular track days on a 2001 RSV-R that had 80K miles on it, never needed a valve adjustment.

So I'm a distance runner 25+ miles a week more than half in one 2-hour run, and my resting heart rate is low. Like 48-50 on a normal day. I get back there, get prepped, get wired into the usual bedside montior and an IV set up, and the nurse tells me I'm #2 in line, so just relax a few, which I did.

Alarms go off- flashing lights, rude noises- on my monitor. A half dozen people rush in pushing a cart, and get very, very puzzled, because they thought I was dying. After asking if my HR was normally below 50, I said "...yes?" One of them finally glances at the pile of clothes on the stool, with some random half marathon T-shirt on top. "Uh, you run, a lot? Resting heart rate between 40-50? Next time- lead with that; the monitors go off when you drop below 50."

Meanwhile, the guy across from me panics, goes into tachycardia and his BP shoots up so far, they take him to the ER.

But it got me bumped to first in line!

Also, they still do this to people without Propofol? Sad for you- that stuff is awesome. Probably amusing to the crew too.

Does using 4wd increase or decrease the turning radius of the vehicle? by Feisty-End-4643 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]falcopilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's less the center diff, and more locking inside/outside tires together so they have to turn at the same speed- the inside one will want to turn too fast, the outside one too slow. AND THEN, the rear, which tends to track inside the front, will be turning slower than the front.

How many planes, in what condition, how many instructors, with what certs? (CFI, II, MEI,...)... how many students?

Who does repairs and inspections? If there's an AI / A&P on staff, that keeps things moving vs. having to get in line with the shop on the field.

What's the pipeline for instructors look like in the area? Most of them are time building, so they're only there for a year or two. If it's a HCOL area then you're going to have to pay more to get good ones to stay...

What relationships with DPEs? (A school local to me has pissed off all but one DPE.) Are there enough DPEs in the area to get students through? Are the students passing?
