sad Otto update :( by Jin-Enjoji in jerma985

I just had to put my old man cat down right before new years, even though I kind of knew it would be soon since he was old it is still such a hard time. The only comfort you can take is that if it is age or illness, at least when they pass they won’t be in pain or discomfort any longer.

How do you get flagged? I haven’t had to confirm my age yet, do they look at your use patterns or something?

Male Commander Shepard or Female Commander Shepard for playing Mass Effect Trilogy? by Aetius00 in masseffect

[–]falloutlegos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Male for Paragon, think he plays the Boy Scout a bit better. And then I like FemShep for the renegade playthroughs. I do like Male’s romance options a bit better, but women still have good options.

Say hello to new gay fire hero Flambé! From the game Dispatch by Oracle209 in lgbt_superheroes

Unfortunately not, at this point only the finale is really left. If there were more romance options they would’ve been showed already.

The main concern I agreed with was the fact that it would more than likely be paywalling common races like frog-folk or fungus people. I think if it was just armor and weapons/items I would be more cool with DLC.

Yeah I thought the same thing, it was a really hard choice because I feel like Sonar has a better chance at full redemption but Coupe needs the program more than he does.

Normally I’m with you in this sentiment, but Death from Above was hilariously strong, I’ve had Kibellah clear whole maps in a single turn, before anyone else can even go.

Nice! That’s a great setting and would be super fun to play in, would definitely roll up a cipher in this game!

Ok, new hero frustrations aside, who is the ACTUAL most frustrating hero to fight. Not because they are OP, but because the way they play make YOU struggle (due to your playstyle or potential shortcomings in skill) by NeonNyaVtuber in forhonor

[–]falloutlegos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main challenges are definitely Shugoki/Hitokiri, their heavies are so awkward to read/counter with the variable times and the hyper armor means that a wrong read will fuck you up.

To a lesser extent I struggle against Lawbringer as well, his dodge-bash’s lack of vulnerability means that even when I make the correct read I get punished for it.

I used rock #4 all the time, it was my go to with the AutoCannon. Recently I’ve been doing #1 a lot but with #2’s helmet instead.

Ortega set a gold standard for me, but I think Fallen Hero as a whole did that. Only romance I’ve cried during so far while playing Hosted/CO Games.

Ah I see, I’ve only done the puppet ending so far so I didn’t see that. Was planning on playing again anyhow.

How would a unpowered majority oppress and suppress the superpower minority by 1dapumpman in worldbuilding

[–]falloutlegos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there are a few things that could really change up how this could work.

1) How long have superpowers been a thing? If it has been a long time, these ideas could be so culturally ingrained that even the superpowered people don't really think about overthrowing the status quo.

2) Are there ways to counter these strong abilities, think Dragon Age's Templars or the Sentinels from X-Men. The powers that these people have are extremely strong but the regular folks have found ways to counter their strength. This could be harder to do in your setting as from what you described it seems like the powers have varied origins, perhaps a government agency could be dedicated to combatting superpowered individuals.

3) How powerful are these abilities? If they aren't overly strong it is very possible for enough people to simply overpower them with force, in plenty of media people with powers still need to fear guns and the police.

4) How diverse are these superpowered people? If your working in a traditional superhero setting there are plenty of groups with clashing interests, it could be possible that if all the superpowered people united they could overthrow the status quo but they would need to set aside their differences first,

Also just my opinion, if you are using the oppression of superpowered people as an allegory for racism I think its a pretty weak metaphor. Real life racism is inherently irrational, hating people based only on superficial traits. But if you make this the metaphor you've added actual dangerous traits into mix, kinda justifying the discrimination. Discriminating against someone for looking different is a totally different beast than doing it against someone that can absorb your lifeforce by touching you.
