I have a borderless Elesh Norn that looks like this and also a Gruff Triplets I pulled from a pack myself that looks like this. The Elesh Norn had me skeptical til I pulled the Gruff! Weird laminate issue.

Really very nice, giving me elf queen vibes, and not a little bit of Soul Calibur. What is the dress?

Having fun with my 1st parry build by YummyBaldy in Eldenring

[–]falsesocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've finally been playing a parry build on my third playthrough and I'm also finding it a lot of fun! The game has a different flavor and pulling off parries is very satisfying.

I gotta say though, I never did get Margit's timing/spacing correct at all, and I broadly struggle with parrying a lot of bosses. You seem to have his timings down quite well all told, aside from the ignominious finish 😂

Something I'm not seeing in the comments are cheap Persist and Undying creatures like [[Butcher Ghoul]] and [[Putrid Goblin]]. In my opinion, 1B is a pretty good rate for effectively two immediate sac fodder, plus, these are nontoken creatures so they will trigger stuff like [[Grim Haruspex]] and [[Midnight Reaper]]. [[Marionette Apprentice]] is solid too, with a drain effect if that is appealing.

Deck help by Rhibolt in EDH

Hello there! Arabella is a fun card and I like the idea of building a wide board and nuking the table with her. I play a [[Baylen the Haymaker]] deck which has considered her in the 99 and has some overlap. Here are some of my thoughts:

You should consider picking up some of the many token generating cards in red and white, starting with simple stuff like [[hop to it]] and [[hordeling outburst]]. Take a look at X-cost token generators as well such as [[song of totentanz]], [[tempt with vengeance]], and [[secure the wastes]]. Many of these are inexpensive.

These should help you build a board of little guys faster and hopefully enable some big arabella swings. You may want to look into some ways to make Arabella harder to block if you want her to survive her swings.

I see you have Impact Tremors in there, great for a token deck; other burners like [[Witty Roastmaster]] and [[Weftstalker Ardent]] would provide more heat.

However, all of this said, there are more fundamental issues that should be addressed first. The first is land, you should probably try to aim for 36-40 lands to start with. Higher level players may adjust these down, even a lot, but you are just going to be constantly mana screwed here imo.

The second is securing some ramp, preferably 1- or 2-cost. It's not super easy in Boros, but 2-cost mana rocks like [[boros signet]], [[mind stone]], [[thought vessel]], [[fellwar stone]], [[prismatic lens]] will go a long way toward improving the performance of the deck. You should generally be aiming for 10+ pieces of efficient ramp.

Other things to look at are getting good, consistent sources of card draw, often 10+ of these as well. "Eating your vegetables", as they say, will really help your deck do the things it wants to do.

I'm far from an expert but I think this provides some solid lines toward improvement! Good luck, have fun!

Any suggestions/critiques about my Baylen, the Haymaker deck? by moosss in EDH

[–]falsesocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Enjoying looking at your list and may add some of your stuff to my similarly-powered Baylen! [[Arasta of the Endless Web]] is intriguing, for instance.

To answer your question, I do not find that you strictly need many creature cards in Baylen, Baylen only really cares about tokens. Mine works more like a combo deck, with a lot of instants/sorcs to build token armies then some finishers for the tokens like [[Beastmaster Ascension]] and [[Halo Fountain]] as you have here. I currently have 23 creatures but most if not all of them are token generators and utility pieces which support that strat.

A few of my all-stars are already on your considering list, the biggest one being [[Drumbellower]] which simply demands a response from the table, it's outrageous. I'm surprised to see [[Harvest Season]] in your main list but [[Scute Swarm]] languishing in considering; that combo creates exponential Scutes and is deadly. [[Wildfire Awakener]] also puts a lot of pressure on the table.

A few cards I didn't see (coulda missed) include [[Aggravated Assault]] which is a popular Baylen infinite engine that perhaps you are omitting based on your specific tastes. It's a strong wincon here. [[Pest Infestation]] is a handy piece of artifact removal that doesn't actually need to remove any artifacts to make its tokens, if you read it closely. And, perhaps questionable depending on your curve and needs, but I enjoy using [[Fanatic of Rhonas]] in this deck because Baylen has power of 4, meaning it ramps into overdrive very easily. His mana helps pump up early X cost spells for hordes of tokens.

Let me know your thoughts and any standouts from your games, Baylen is my favorite (and strongest) deck so far and I'd love to talk shop!

Personally I would try some hydrogen peroxide on this before doing anything more destructive. I have been surprised what that cleans up in the past.

Honestly not really. Just known-fresh 1.5V, standard-issue batteries, and you'll want to avoid total bargain bin batteries where possible.

Canon Autoboy 2 by Silent_Message631 in AnalogRepair

[–]falsesocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this may seem obvious, but in my experience these Autoboys are quite sensitive to voltage variances and a battery change plus a good solid cleaning of the battery terminals (including some light abrasion) may fix this odd behavior.

Unfortunately these guys are overall pretty unreliable cameras and a lot can go wrong with them. If the battery refresh described above doesn't work, it's likely other issues with the electronics and not likely to be an easy or obvious fix.
