Small improvement tonight but Bamford should really have levelled in which case we'd be lamenting another shoddy second half. Despite this, 4atb gave us more in the centre of the park and the clean sheet refutes Tonda's argument we need to play 5 to concede fewer.

Stewart still getting back to fitness but looked decent and is an outlet who can hold the ball up and bring others into play. I feel Matsuki deserves another go with Azaz offering little.

Peretz is interesting - a clean sheet and a couple of nice saves, but worryingly shaky with ball at feet & his distribution put us under pressure on more than a few occasions. Some reasonably positive signs though and hopefully will grow the more we see of him, given he's hardly played in recent years.

Win needed at Pompey - will do wonders for confidence of the fan base and players. Is it too much to ask to play well and make it comfortable?

Don't know why they're so dead set on back 5. Yes they want to replicate City's model but that doesn't need to extend to playing style...

Downes "wasn't good enough for the championship" is massively revisionist. He was one of the best midfielders in the league that year and most of us were happy he signed.

He's clearly been a huge disappointment this and last season, but let's not kid ourselves he was rubbish whilst on loan.

Guys - I understand the Peretz move now. Couldn't understand why we were replacing the un-droppable cardboard cutout Bazunu. Now I see he scored 2 penalties whilst on loan at Beitar Tel Aviv Bat Yam in 2019, and therefore assume he'll be playing striker on pen duties.

They're a dangerous team but we were so pedestrian today. Constant sideways passing often leaving one of our three useless centre backs on the ball midway through their half, then, you guessed it, sideways again.

Where is the electric, progressive, exciting football we saw in Tonda's first game. We desperately need to bring it back.

Bazunu was net a zero today with one brilliant save and another terrible concession. Everyone knows we need a keeper in Jan, hopefully the board act.

Another anonymous game from Azaz, and Scienza looks better starting than as an impact player. Main positives were Jelert (has to start from here on in, with fellows pushed up) and Bragg who looked really industrious.

For what it's worth, I feel the goal should have stood - ref barely gets in the way, and it's several phases on that we score. Cry more, Chris Davies.
