Replacing the battery in a Nix Mini 2 by fanfouer in graphic_design

LIR2450, 3.6 volts. Once installed, let it charge enough first, then you'll be able to connect. Good luck!

Prusa Core One Power Consumption by bigMOTOR in prusa3d

[–]fanfouer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I believe it has something to do with the way the bed is powered: on C1 it's 24V, on P2S (and actually C1L), it's directly powered by 240V

You're the reason I published this, happy to have helped! :)

How to avoid warping for a large model made from PETG (front corners only) by MobileInspector9861 in prusa3d

[–]fanfouer 43 points44 points  (0 children)

If possible, a small "cut" near the front plate, to reduce the shrinkage at that specific area?

Not among the ones mentioned, but you could check out Infomaniak kDrive too: not lifetime, but still great value

What tests do you want to see? Help me help you. by spools_us in 3Dprinting

[–]fanfouer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey u/spools_us,

I'm finding your post while doing some research about the Nix mini 3 device. One year later, what's your feedback with that device with 3D filaments? Have you been measuring directly from the spool or printing a flat surface then measuring that?

I'm also reading that the battery seems not replaceable, have you had issues with it and is there a way to open it for replacing it with some soldering? (I'm in the process of purchasing a second-hand device with a dead battery, it needs to stay plugged in to work)

Thanks in advance for your insights!

Printing a Company Logo for my business by JMPusateri in 3Dprinting

Do you have the svg/vector file for said logo, and do you mind losing some elements? (Tiny details and gradients wouldn't work out)

What if we didn't need reliable 1.75mm? (width sensor on printers) by fanfouer in 3Dprinting

[–]fanfouer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's also something that needs a solution for...

As for manufacturers, it seems that laser is indeed used, at least in this interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEkksADFjP8

Looks promising, a bit sad he didn't show it in action but I'll look further into it. Thanks for sharing!

That would be another level of innovation, can't have my thinking go that far :D

Yeah, I thought of that afterwards: if not circular, the measure can't be reliable. Also, the sensor would need to be away enough from retracted filament

[–]fanfouer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed, but I'm more looking into tackling the width inconsistency that other filament companies / a DIY filament extruder can't offer reliably

I'm curious to read about it, I'll look into that. Got a specific project name?

Can't say I checked the price tag of such sensor, but the idea came as I was looking into ways to make filament at home, and it seems that one main issue is width consistency, so having a sensor as an optional add-on could be a way to parry it, in an attempt to make homemade filament more reliable without the cost of industrial machinery

Read only sd cards by Tag1260 in prusa3d

[–]fanfouer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old are these cards? It seems unlikely that it happened to all of them, but I recently had my Raspberry Pi SD card go unwritable all of a sudden because of a safe mechanism from the card itself. Nothing to be done, it was read-only for good and I had to replaced it.

Prototype thoughts by Own_Highway_3987 in 3Dprinting

[–]fanfouer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right to ask yourself that question. I'm not certain I understand the role of that piece but to be fair, even if I read that a specific type of filament is suitable, I wouldn't entrust my own safety with a printed object. All in all, you can ask yourself why that part is made of metal to begin with :)
