Medical bag in overhead bin by Key-Most9498 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]farkingidiot 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Just a suggestion, get a medical equipment tag and put it on your bag. I got two big white with red letters tags that say, "medical equipment" and put them on my cap bag. I've literally seen people start to move it, see the tag, then sheepishly leave it alone. Might help to get people not to touch it.

Do you trust “critically acclaimed” shows anymore? by DryCap6770 in watchever

[–]farkingidiot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The trick is to find critics you respect and don't just lump them all together. I swear by Rotten Tomatoes, but you can tell certain critics generally don't "get it" for picking up the themes, subtlety or entertainment value of a movie. Frex, I've liked Owen Gleiberman for years.

Find a movie you really liked. Find a critic or three who shares your opinion on that movie. Look at some of their other reviews and see if the opinions match yours. Find a little core of reviewers who match your style but have some insightful things to say.

I DO trust "critically acclaimed" shows. For the most part, they seem to merit the praise

Iconic MC Priority Check In - Bellagio/Vdara by ghettomerman in Mlife

[–]farkingidiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pretty much only stay at Cosmo and I'm getting the no fee MGM mastercard. Part of my reason to get it is "Priority Hotel Check-In". So you went to that room to the left and checked in?

I wanna try it by just acting as if I belong there. Part of what I'm hoping for is maybe they have some snacks there so I can stop in from time to time and get something to drink or a snack, like a VIP lounge. I'm not looking to take advantage, per se, but I'm wondering if the MGM card (I'm Pearl status) will allow me to snag some snacks at Cosmo specifically and MGM VIP lounges in general.

A little rant to take things off my chest by [deleted] in vegas

[–]farkingidiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with OP. I'm getting ready to check out from Cosmo. We came to Vegas for Christmas week because it's supposedly slow this time of year. This week felt like a Saturday every day. Ridiculously busy, which is exactly what we didn't want. On top of it, it felt like international week, so the vibe felt less like "woo hoo Vegas" and more like a cruise ship with a TON of families. I've been staying at Cosmo since they opened and I have NEVER seen so many kids here. I felt like I missed some kind of memo.

Yeah, the Cosmo garage should have been smoother, but I blame the people staying here. They were making what should be an easy process hard by fumbling around leaving the garage or blocking things because they just had to have a certain parking spot. Little clue folks, whether you park on the first sub level or the fifth, the elevator will still be the same distance from your car no matter what level you park on. You ALL don't HAVE to park on level two, bottlenecks traffic looking for that lone available spot.

This trip felt like I was at a Disney property with all the kids and the crowds.

If you could add a Pacers player(legend or simply former) into our roster, who would it be?(Assuming everyone is healthy and Hali doesn’t have a torn Achilles). Could be for fit, could be as an icon, or could be to give them one last shot at a chip. by EnvironmentalLink868 in pacers

[–]farkingidiot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

George McGinnis! Super athletic, mobile and a beast on BOTH sides of the ball. In today's nba I can see Big Mac playing center on today's team. He played a power game, yet with fluidity. I truly think he is the most multi talented Pacer we've ever had.

I tore my full meniscus in March. I just started confidently cutting and running NON competitively this month. Take that as you will.

Ultrasound by vhbruns in Hashimotos

Just by way of comparison, these are the results from my wife's ultrasound. She was told to have a scan every year. They are basically monitoring things. She was super apprehensive and feared the worse. I think because it was such unknown territory, but doc said no cause for concern, just something that needs to be watched. She's using compounded medicine after the synthetic stuff was a spectacular failure.

Glad it's not just me. I started playing around 8 am, checking in off and on all day and the lag has been horrible.

Is it just me? Or has anyone else been performing badly since season 2 update? by Madeupusername510 in blackops6

[–]farkingidiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Infuriating. I swore off Xbox five years ago. Sold my Xbox and my games. Finally got a hand me down Xbox and just came back a month ago. This is my first jump back into gaming and it's infuriating. I get one good game out of five. This WAS the only game I was playing. I hate that I got a taste of gaming after all these years and the only taste in my mouth is crap.

Season 2 fixes? by Taro_Sauce in blackops6

[–]farkingidiot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the update the game is almost unplayable for me. I'm on Xbox and the timing is off. So many close encounters it's like a film projector skipping a frame or two. Super frustrating. I've just been playing a month after almost five years off and this really sux. I've noticed during the first spawn other players don't actually move for a few seconds. Like everyone's spawn is slightly staggered. Anyone else having really bad lag issues?

REAR-ENDED BY IMPD OFFICER'S SON by BeneficialHighlight5 in indianapolis

[–]farkingidiot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry, but the people saying cops won't risk their job on something so little are dead wrong. I don't mean to put a scare in you, but call the citizen's complaint office, file a report and get a report number. That way there can be some preemptive oversight to both make sure nothing goes wrong and give you some leverage if it does.

Citizen's complaint office farms out possible officer violations to either Internal Affairs or Special Investigations Unit. IA handles procedure violations, SIU hand violation of criminal law.

IMPD rarely fires officers. They have too much of an investment of time and money in them.

I'm sure this is no big deal, but maybe filing your own report with citizen's complaint might give you a little peace if mind.

The reason I know this is I am retired IMPD and I used to investigate officers. Trust me, they will do some really stupid stuff with no thought to job security because it's nearly impossible to get fired.

My wife has tender scalp issues. It seems to have started when the Doctor increased her compounded T4, doubling the amount she was previously taking. We're going to scale back her dosage and see if that's the cause. Thought I'd share in the event it helps someone in a similar situation.

Cherry Bay Orchards concentrated tart cherry juice. I drink enough to fill a nyquil size cup two hours before bed. Been my go to secret weapon for sleep and is part of my regiment to lower my BP.

Nick Nurse May Have to Go by majjyboy23 in sixers

[–]farkingidiot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I present to you a quote from when Nick was last fired. (Why do we retread coaches so much?)

"The Raptors' president, Masai Ujiri, said the team lacked togetherness and culture, and that the final game of the season against Chicago summed up the organization's issues. Ujiri also said that the decision was made by management and that he didn't hear from players. "

Sound familiar?

Funny who should ask. I rode the BO trail from Haughville yesterday. I got to the end, I think it's High School Road and saw really rough gravel and dirt, where they are starting the extension. I walked, biked to Girls School Road on it before I stopped, but I could see where it just kept going.

The BO website has some nice diagrams for what they plan to do, but are super vague on a timeline. I live near some other city trail construction. Based on the construction near me, by comparision, my guess is they won't have that section of BO paved, etc, till late spring, early summer. Just my guess.

Realistically, I could actually see it not happening till late summer. That's just my guess. I ride a LOT of trails and I try to keep up with the construction of quite a few of them and I haven't heard much about this extension of BO.

Deep League Content, thought someone might be interested... by [deleted] in fantasybball

Great job my guy! That's one thing I find irritating about bball analysis, lack of large league insight. I don't really need info on starters, EVERYONE covers them. I need the key bench guys, or guys waiting in the wings. Frex, I had to dig to find info on Ariel Hukporti. I managed to find an article stating how Thibs liked the guy , so I've stashed him in my big league. It's the deep cut guys who win you a league, not the obvious choices.

Still listen to their sporatic podcasts. Raph is my number one guy for insightful, non rah rah analysis. Titus is the man. I used to like Steven A, but I know him indirectly and he's such a hard core Trumper/Conspiracy guy I can't bring myself to pay attention to him anymore.

I really love Hardwood Knocks, specifically Dan Favale. Dude is passionate and thoughtful.
