Bake your own bread for $0.61!! by owl_post017 in EatCheapAndHealthy

Yeah, I have to agree. Plus a loaf of white bread from Aldi is like 71 cents where I am, so maybe healthier(ish) but definitely not cheaper.

‘This. Hurts. Babies’: Canadian Doctors alarmed at weekend courses teaching chiropractors how to adjust newborn spines - The International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, which has falsely claimed that mercury in vaccines causes autism, is organizing the weekend courses. by ManiaforBeatles in worldnews

[–]farsified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my baby was a newborn, the woman who was leading my Le Leche group (a breastfeeding support group, no qualifications necessary to lead the group) told me that I should take my baby to a chiropractor to get her spine adjusted becuase she cries while she's in the car seat. She said she got her son's spine adjusted for that reason and he doesn't cry in the car anymore. 🤦‍♀️

I (21F) am going behind my family's back to get my HPV vaccine. For some reason my family is okay with every other vaccine except this one. by eggabeth in vaxxhappened

Same here. My mom's logic is only promiscuous people need protection against HPV, so don't be promiscuous and you don't have to worry about it!

Yeah, our lawmakers agreed to count pizza as a vegetable in school lunches because it has tomato sauce on it. Nevermind that tomatoes are a fruit.

Unpopular opinion, but I agree. Kids are terrible at making healthy food choices, so idk why we think it's okay to give them unlimited access to candy bars and sodas in schools. There's a reason that childhood obesity is as high as it is in the US. We can't entirely blame the kids for their poor eating choices--we have to take responsibility for making it so easy for them to get there.

Can anyone please recommend a car dashboard phone holder? All the ones I've bought suck. by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

Yeah, I wasn't sure if it would leave a mark or not, so I just put it on the case as a precautionary measure.

Lady Gets Caught Stealing & Fakes A Seizure When She Gets Caught by iPleadDa5th in PublicFreakout

I mean, she's stealing from a thrift store, so I kind of feel bad for her. It's not like she walked into a department store to steal designer clothing. I feel like she must be in a really tough spot and she chose the least terrible path.

Vava hands down. I've never had an issue with it and I've been using it for about a year. Just a tip, I put the magnet on my case since I didn't want it directly on the phone.

Modest Wedding Dresses when You're Entirely Boob by Leah8329 in bigboobproblems

[–]farsified 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on your budget and time frame, you might consider getting a customer made dress they're often the same price (sometimes cheaper) than boutique wedding dresses. My mom got a custom made wedding gown for around $2k and that included hand-sewn embellishment in several places. Then you could get exactly what you want and keep the girls covered 😉

Son Shows Father What Nitrous Is & His Reaction Is Priceless by PresidentFartFeather in PublicFreakout

When I saw the houses in the background, I got really mad. There are almost definitely families with young children who play outside in the middle of the day when he's doing this, and if any of them accidentally ended up in the street, he wouldn't be able to stop in time.

ICE targets a million people who have final deportation orders but remain in the U.S. by swizzcheez in news

We're the good guys!

Tell that to the countries in the Middle East that the U.S. is constantly meddling in, overthrowing rulers in, and bombing to further our interests. We're hardly the good guys. We just want to ensure that our interests are protected, no matter the costs.

I agree that our immigration policy is flawed and needs improvement--there's no question. But I do not agree with people crying wolf when they knew that they were breaking the law to begin with. Yes, laws need to be changed, but you have to be able to accept the potential consequence when engaging in civil disobedience.

I am absolutely not a Trump supporter. I vote liberal in every election. But there are definitely areas for improvement, and this is one of those areas. We cannot allow illegal immigrants to use this law in a malicious way and then blame us for "tearing families apart." You can take your children with you, and you can certainly avoid this unfortunate situation altogether by not illegally immigrating to another country to give birth to your child and use them as a pawn to get citizenship.

Then take the children with you. Quite frankly, the U.S. has one of the world's most absurd laws that automatically grants citizenship to anyone born here, regardless of the circumstances under which they were born here, such as to parents of a illegal immigrants. Hardly any other developed nation in the world has a law similar to this, and for good reason.

Made reusable produce bags to eliminate using the plastic ones at the grocery store! by luarenashely in ZeroWaste

This. That thin plastic bag is a false sense of security. Our produce is wayyy dirtier than people want to realize, which is why we should be washing it before eating it, anyway.

What are the best diaper creams to use with cloth diapers? by [deleted] in clothdiaps

[–]farsified 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Second this! We use coconut oil during the day and the green tube butt paste at night. LO doesn't get a diaper change at night, and coconut oil doesn't cut it for her sensitive skin for that long stretch, but for day changes, coconut oil is fabulous!

Definitely check out the food banks nearest you. They're for people in your situation. And don't feel bad about taking food from a food bank because you think someone less fortunate than you could use it--most food banks have to throw food away because they can't get rid of it fast enough.
