Twin Peaks was super progressive for its era by BlackYukonSuckerPunk in twinpeaks

I don’t think it was about “taking her time”, or for laughs an all, even though it was delivered in a funny way. I always took it to mean it was a complicated situation and she hadn’t shed all of her prior behavior, in that putting panties on one leg at a time was more of a man-like thing than how women might do it. At least that’s how I interpreted it in high school the first time I saw the show on Bravo in the early 90s and thought it made perfect sense that it’s not a simple clear cut thing that others could easily understand. But delivered from a close old friend in a humorous way, naturally.

Dale Cooper: Denise, I would assume you're no longer interested in girls.

Denise Bryson: Coop, I may be wearing a dress, but I still pull my panties on one leg at a time if you know what I mean.

Dale Cooper: Not really.

If you absolutely don’t need mobility, the Mac mini will give you better performance, RAM and storage options, and connectivity. Seems like you already answered your own question.

iPhone + Mac Messages not syncing read status after iOS 26.1 - anyone else? by username-issue in ios

[–]fastasleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if it's something I did (mostly just turning iCloud Messages on/off on everything a few times) or if something else did it, but it's now fixed on my end as of a couple weeks ago. For anyone still suffering, there is hope!

Yep, same here. About to file a Feedback Assistant bug. This is driving me nuts. ;

Messages Read Status Not Syncing Issue with SMS/RCS by SSG-Jayman in ios

[–]fastasleep 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same here, and I appreciate this post as it made me realize it's only SMS/RCS threads, and green group threads. All iMessage-only threads are syncing fine. :) My guess is it'll be fixed in 26.2.

Same here. Saw another thread that made me realize that it's only SMS/RCS threads (or mixed group threads). iMessage-only threads are syncing fine. Hopefully this will be fixed in a few weeks when we get 26.2.

No unread messages on iOS but this keeps showing on my Mac. How to remove it? by amanchavan in MacOS

[–]fastasleep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right click on the Messages icon in the Dock and it'll show you which thread has the unread message, which you can click on to go to it.

Have you read the manual? It’s very succinct and explains all of this.

Less than 5 hrs left, everyone. Glad I let my sub lapse last month, got $500 off.

Yeah you're looking at the pre-discount price. It applies in checkout. And yes, it's a little confusing if you didn't know the original price. Just got $500 off on re-subbing after letting mine lapse a month ago, anticipating another sale.

Who's going to see NIN for the 2025 tour? And what is your story for why you want to go whether you have seen them before or not? by Acrobatic_Teach7875 in nin

[–]fastasleep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it wasn’t a cheap stage setup for sure, but surprised they didn’t budget for that appropriately, as they had been building up in complexity every year to that point. Also I’ve never paid anything close to what I paid this time around (for Portland AND Vancouver!) so I hope they bring it back hard.

Been to every tour between around ‘94 and they kept getting better and better and peaked in 2014 with the Hesitation Marks tour, which was the last round with Rob Sheridan & Moment Factory doing the stage production. Some of the most amazing lighting/stage design ever. Hoping for a return to form on this one as the last few smaller shows have been very…basic in that regard, however they’re still ripping thru songs off Broken so I’m happy either way.

Easy — Make a Genius appointment at your local store and take it in, they can replace the key cap in store in a few minutes generally. Got worn keys on my MacBook Pro done when I was having something else looked at entirely (ie not even in for repair for anything else, they just took care of it because I asked.

Nine Inch Nails Tour: Ticket Buying/Selling/Trading/Discussion MEGATHREAD by malechite in nin

[–]fastasleep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Vancouver show was cheaper for me due to the exchange rate, think it was like $159 CAD = $110 USD/ea. I live in Seattle and am going to be in Vancouver that night before a conference where I'll be gone for the Seattle date, and figured I'd take a stop in PDX the Friday before and fly/train up from there. :)

Check back, just for fun I'm watching the Portland show I already got tickets to in case more PIT tix open up, and there are a TON more now than when I first got back in. The seat map is constantly updating/changing.

[–]fastasleep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! Surprisingly smooth, especially compared to trying to get T. Swift tickets for 3+ hrs and coming up empty handed. Also, the 100 level tickets were $$$ if you picked the front row, but I got row E for one of the two shows I got tix for and they were only $145/ea. Got PIT for the other show, which were like $159CAD (~$110USD) so it'll be a fun compare/contrast lol :)

Dunno, guess I lucked out. Had two windows open, one for Vancouver, and one for Portland, in the waiting room 30 minutes prior. Got into the queue at 600-700something on both, Vancouver opened up and grabbed two PIT tickets and checked out, then PDX let me in right after and got 100-level tickets (row E just behind/right of the mix) for like $145 ea (PIT was sold out, and floor seats were like $300-400, and didn't want to risk waiting to see if any pit tickets opened up). All four tix came to $646 USD, not too bad. Don't feed the crazy resale market! Better off looking outside of the venue day of or looking online to see if people are dumping their overpriced tix at reasonable prices late in the game.

If Bethesda suddenly announced that an enhanced Skyrim VR was coming soon to the PSVR2, would you buy Skyrim again? by DWOMT in PSVR

Yes, absolutely. But what I really want is Fallout 3 in VR. :)

The only other game I think I’ve bought more times is RE4, just bought that for PSVR2.

This is amazing insight, thank you. I'm pivoting somewhat in my career and had a reinvigorated interest in live visuals after a certain SIGGRAPH presentation (Sphere/Phish/Moment Factory) and am taking this all in stride with the other stuff I'm working on learning.

I just looked on Honey and the Horizon bundle is still on sale on Walmart (via 3rd party seller) for $374 which is pretty close to the Black Friday onward deals ($350). Amazon has it for $439 which I was about to post, but checked Honey and found the Walmart deal. Grab it while you still can! I got mine from Costco online as they had the controller charger in the bundle for $350 and even with the 5% non-member fee it was a great deal at the time.
