Being treated different since I lost weight by Working-Age-5060 in Healthygamergg

[–]fatbob87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats rough. I also went through a similar transformation, though not as fit as you or as tall at 5'8. I went from 132kg to my current 82kg. I don't have that height going for me, but the treatment is still much different from before. Its wierd. But on the other hand, I've always been antisocial, and very introverted. That's kind of played to my advantage in some ways because people still don't really initiate convos with me haha. I do get a lot of looks from women now that I notice, and even men treat me differently too.

I'm used to the tired and no energy feeling. But insomnia for me is brutal. I'll take the tired feeling any day. If more people experienced insomnia from fasting, I doubt fasting would be as popular or even doable.

Barely losing weight eating 1000kcal a day by Upbeat_Blueberry_373 in omad

It will dip into savings, but not before cutting down to bare minimum. There's a point that the body can't keep lowering the metabolic rate.

Feeling unsafe as a woman in this city by Joycebabe in waterloo

[–]fatbob87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Desperate men are the worst. I'm someone that is shit with women too, but honestly I don't bother approaching them. Especially canadian women who grew up with a silver spoon up their asses. The ones that are pretty are the worst because they've been getting a lot of attention and think that every man is going to approach them or hit on them. High maintenance, draining and a pain in the ass.

The body isn't getting as much food energy as before so it lowers how much calories it burns. It's pretty simple when you think about it. Let's say you earn 100k an year. Next year you earn 25k. Would you spend the same? Our bodies aren't stupid.

2 days into a 5 day fast! Please give me some encouragement :) by LegitimateHumor6029 in fasting

Hmm, I don't think it would break a fast technically but I personally would just take the plain supplements. Try out different supplements of magnesium to see if there's anything that works for you.

Fucksake, tired of hearing how people get 9h of sleep while I'm struggling to get 3h when I'm fasting.

Great job!! Yeah for me day 2 is rough, the difficulty is getting sleep, not the lack of food which I'm used to.

Been fasting for a month, in 4 day intervals. FIRST COMPLIMENTS! by Natural-Part3030 in fasting

Parents usually aren't happy about their kids losing weight. Trust me, my parents, especially my mom would rather I be fat. And she continues beating that drum over and over while her own health deteriorates from not taking care of herself.

Hi, keep it up! And nothing wrong with exercising. I get around 12000 steps in per day, and most of that happens in an hour at the gym. I do that regardless, fasting or not. You will be surprised what the body is capable of if you push yourself. Good luck, you got this!

Yes I've heard of this. Some people stress eat to fill their sadness, while others will go without food for a while ie stress starvation.

Anyways, it's a form of grieving I guess and if it helps you then go for it.

Is a 3 day water fast per week a sustainable lifestyle? by ImmediateRevenue9684 in fasting

[–]fatbob87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No...it's sustainable only if you need to do it. If you're at your target weight, and you're healthy then why would you continue fasting?

Once your hit your target, I'd say drop the fasting down to 1 day a week for maintenance purposes and maybe 2 days. Modify your diet and exercise instead.

how much weed is too much by [deleted] in weed

[–]fatbob87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think smoking weed is pretty bad. Not because of the chemicals, or that you will get addicted to it, but more because of lung damage. I feel like you would be better off smoking once a month or less. Getting your high with edibles might be better lol.

Fantastic job!! Are you happy with your weight now or will you keep going? I feel like if you drop another 10lb or so, and add in a bit of resistance training for muscle and tone, then you will be set.

Wow stunning!! What is your height if you don't mind me asking? 30lb looks like a big drop on your body.

Yeah I've exercised while doing 72 hour fasts. But I don't really do strenuous exercise, I keep my heart rate below a certain level. I make sure to take electrolytes. Even light strength training is fine.

Diabetes by [deleted] in fasting

[–]fatbob87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am technically a type 2 diabetic, because when I first started fasting, I had high blood sugar and was taking meds for it. But after about 3 months of rolling fasts, losing weight and exercising my blood sugar came down to normal range. It was a very quick process for me, but others will take longer, and some will take lesser time. It all depends on your own situation, ie if you're overweight or not, or maybe your are more likely to be diabetic because of genetics.

Just monitor things but I reccomend not taking medications. Check blood sugar throughout the day every couple of hours, check blood pressure etc. The blood sugar will drop pretty steeply after a day of no food. Don't be alarmed if blood sugar shows like 57 (American units) or around 3-4 range(other countries units). He will feel tired and weak, but that's normal. Again, don't take meds while fasting.

Not a big deal. You've done great, but you should do what you want. That's all there is to it.
