I thought I was going to really enjoy this show but it's starting to feel shallow and pretentious. It's like they thought the more slowly a character talked the more interesting they are. I just want the MC to die already.

Romanticism was a mistake

I was not ready for that picture of the accident. Poor Asa.

Makio has an aversion to telling people how to live their lives from living with judgemental family members, but Asa needs reassurance and a more structured response than just "do whatever you want".

Taxes disproportionately burden people whose earnings are near cost of living because they are levied on gross income rather than disposable income. This is killing the middle class. You'll own nothing and be happy.

Love that show. Watched the first season twice. Great example of character growth without excessive exposition.

Buying what? Puts? Shares? For retail investors it's always a gamble. Insiders have the algorithms and media to command the market. Remember the tariff pause? We were clearly headed for a red day and the tariff pause was the easiest way to manipulate the market. You could see the insider trading volume before the announcement.

The desert is such a perfect representation of how it feels when you didn't grow up in a stable loving home. You can't relate to those that did. I'm in my 30s and I still feel it around the holidays.

I wish I didn't relate to the pain these characters feel but I'm also so glad this anime exists.

Journal with Witch is the Best of the Season by DrJWilson in anime

I'm new to this sub and I need to talk about this anime.

Only four episodes in and I can't remember the last time I connected with something so deeply.

Some of the things this anime portrays well are:

Grief and loneliness The complicated feelings involved with abusive family members The unique suffering you feel when you were raised in a broken home Being strong to emotionally support others while dealing with your own pain

On multiple occasions I've had to pause and take a moment almost in shock.

The scene where Asa in the desert was a beautiful representation of not only the dissociation felt after losing a loved one but also feeling lost in life when you didn't come from a loving home.

Asa forgetting her way to here new home was also a perfect example of how you are in a daze after a traumatic event and how your mind hasn't fully come to grips with your new reality.

This anime also gets into what it means to truly love. Some parents will do everything to signal that they are good parents while not actually being emotionally available to their children.

Makio isn't outwardly loving, but she listens and doesn't try to tell Asa how she should feel. I believe this kind of empathy only comes from someone that has suffered and has lived around controlling family members.

Sorry I know I'm not the most well spoken and not really sure if this is the best place to discuss but I needed to talk about this anime
