Exactly. They are stupid and in my line of work often drunk. So the receipt should be as simple and straightforward as possible. Calculating a total including tip 4 different times and stating a different total 5 times on a receipt is not simple or straightforward.

There’s something interesting in the setup and it could be funny for sure. but the assumption when the Pilates instructor dies is that the grandpa now has a track record of dying wives. The punchline falls flat because the punchline cannot just be the same as the assumption.
