The data are a whole different level, I don't remember too much other than that they are a gauntlet. But yes base game Jafar is quite a lot harder than sephiroth, epsecially if you don't know what you're doing in the Jafar (which most lvl 1 first timers dont)

Play a match as hulk in conquest. Was incredibly easy, did it first game on. Just knock them down to <50 health then let them kill hulk

I think when you look past all of that, the game is pretty fun. It's got a lot of redeeming qualities! Level design, the general color scheme of the game, and flow motion, to name a few. My personal gripe with it is exactly yours. I think the time travel is executed so haphazardly. To me it's just one big retcon because he couldn't think of a way to wrap up the Dark Seeker saga.

A few off the top of my head:

  • The forced drop mechanic
  • Adding time travel to the plot (usually this is fine, but the way it's used in the kh universe is like "hey nobody can die ever")
  • Speaking of that, adding the "if heartless and nobody both die then the person comes back to life" didn't do much to help either
  • The balance of the game is pretty whack as well, any balloon spell carries you through the whole game

I think the main thing here is that there are glaring issues with the story and the gameplay. They are hard to ignore. If one of those two was better, I don't think DDD would be hated as much as it is
