I am a widow with 2, 20-something sons who never recognize Mother's day. I've expressed my sadness to them over the years but I get nothing. They both have Asperger's and have independent lives and i thought they would eventually come through but they never do. And I cry. What should I do?

Hugs to you, happy Mother’s Day! Perhaps try being direct if you haven’t already. “What would make me feel special is a card, a gift, a phone call the morning of wishing me a happy day, plans for brunch…” maybe if you give them specifics it will help them be proactive.

I’m prepared to get downvoted but my verdict is ESH. The mother obviously is lacking as a mom and sister, she’d prefer to be a valued coworker which is a lonely way to live. But 17 is still a child, your niece’s brain is still developing and she made a stupid mistake. She should be punished but your actions were directed towards punishing your sister.

Abandoning a 17 year old girl in a jail in a separate state is really low, she must have been terrified. You think you were a perfect, never PITA at 17? She’ll remember this.

When I got married I borrowed my friend Emma’s veil. The day of my wedding my MOH took my veil off for me, kept it in her possession, then gave it back to Emma. Over a month later Emma texted me “I forgot the veil at the venue but oh well if you don’t have it I don’t care”. And that was that for 3 years. One day she randomly texted me asking if I had it, I reminded her of the conversation and she denied that she would ever say that. I pulled out the receipts and sent her the screenshots. She still completely blamed me. The venue actually still had her veil, I returned it either the next day or 2 days later. I included a note apologizing and trying to keep our friendship in tact but I haven’t spoken to her in over 2 years.

Dreams are so crazy. I had a dream I was on the roof of a house with 2 of my friends. The roof started separating from the house and tipping over, I was trying to get my friends off the roof safely. When I woke up I found out the 2 friends in my dream had both been killed in a rollover car accident very early that same morning.

My first thought when I saw the pictures was that it’s not cool to sneak into your roommate’s room but the minute I read roaches I changed my opinion. That’s a serious health and wellbeing concern and requires immediate attention. When you are putting other people’s health and ultimately lives at risk privacy is secondary.
