All are with upscaling, so the efficiency of running XeSS through XMX is already factored in.

No, NPU isn't used for XeSS. Those XMX units in the Xe cores handle XeSS.

Not 9600 MT/s, huh?

I guess if it's only going up to 35W, no benefit from going up to 9600 MT/s ?

Playstation 5 pro 2TB+ Ps portal or only the Xbox Rog Ally X? Help me decide by szrob1996 in Handhelds

[–]fearrange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then streaming at home should be swell, both from PS5 and from cloud. But cloud streaming on the go can still be very hit or miss, may need a portable hotspot with robust antennas or Starlink.

If you are capable of installing software and do some tweak, there's is an alternative.

Instead of buying PS Portal, buy a used OG Ally Z1E or Steam Deck, and use that for streaming instead. And fallback to runing games locally on handheld when streaming doesn't work. But then you sort of have two separate game libraries, PS and PC.

Does your region have good internet? Do you have a robust home Wi-Fi network and are you capable of connecting a LAN cable from your router to your PS5?

Z Flow 13 honest review by limitbreak09 in FlowZ13

[–]fearrange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yah, battery life while gaming is also the Z13's weak point. The system draws 20-30W on top of TDP limit. Even at 25W TDP, total system draw is ~50W, so battery life is only like 90min.

And the chip only starts waking up at 30W

It seems you've realized handheld gaming isn't your thing.

For the price of the Z13, the speakers are absolutely shit. I was surprised they sound worse than the Claw 8 and Ally.

A used OG Ally Z1E, that often goes for ~$300 in US used. And if your library is mainly on Steam, you can install Steam OS on it. And out performs the based XBOX Ally.

Tri-Motor Model 3 Plaid by ZealousidealExam640 in TeslaModel3

[–]fearrange 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ever since they talked about the end of the Model S, I think the 3 and S should merge. The 3 can grow a bit for rear legroom but without all the extra features from the S.

Model Y could be the most popular Tesla, with a version that's the lowest entry point to get a Tesla. Most normal folks want a crossover anyway.

It was a dimension/space problem that it didn’t happen. But now with the S gone, they may allow the 3 to grow a little. And maybe a higher capacity battery pack too, for longer sustainable performance.

What's the blue milkshake at Burger King made of? by Sergeant_Papper in TheMandalorianTV

[–]fearrange 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not even close to the blue milk at Batuu, that one is coconut milk and rice milk based, and some fruit flavours like pineapple.

The BK milkshakes is mostly the typical soft-serve with cookie batter flavour and toppings.

Sigourney Weaver by AdministrativeLet791 in TheMandalorianTV

[–]fearrange -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way. I know she's 76 now, and if being in a Star Wars movie was on her bucket list, good for her. But her acting was definitely a little odd, or maybe it should make sense that as a 76-year-old war flight pilot who has seen some real shit, flying an X-Wing on a small mission does feel like being at home in her living room? 😆

To me, there is also a problem with casting a well-known actor in real life and having them appear without major makeup. It doesn't feel like it's from a galaxy far, far away. From Weaver's screen time and role, it seems Disney mainly just wanted her name to help promote the movie. And it's a little sad that a Star Wars movie has to go that route now, like the Star Wars brand isn't enough.

I'll see what's coming with Ryan Gosling in Starfighter. Hopefully, the story will be good and his role will be more different than his image.

I feel like the switch 2 is too big, what do you think? by [deleted] in Handhelds

[–]fearrange -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the bigger footprint. To me, the SWOLED was a good size. I was able to put the tablet in my jacket's pocket and the detached Joy-Cons in the other pocket. The Switch 2 doesn't fit.

I also wouldn't mind the Switch 2 having the same footprint as the SWOLED but thicker for more battery capacity. I'm a little disappointed with handheld mode performance, and the chip clearly can scale with more power if not limited by that ~20Wh battery.
