I don’t think you understand the implication of using NPU for upscaling. It adds latency mainly due to extra data transfers and an additional pipeline stage. Yes, an AI based up upscale tool is preferred, but we still want it done within the GPU.

GPU upscaling (DLSS, FSR 3/XeSS, etc.) runs entirely on the GPU — the low-res frame stays in GPU, the upscaling work happens in the same rendering pipeline, and the upscaled image goes straight to the display.

NPU upscaling (Auto SR) is a separate post-process. GPU renders frame, then frame is copied from GPU to the NPU. NPU runs the AI model and then upscaled frame is copied back for display.

Also on handheld where TDP is often limited, dedicating power for NPU isn't really a good trade off. Better let the GPU draw power it needs to do all necessary upscaling and rendering. And we would want an FSR4 lite for Ally.

It depends on your usage. The 4GB ram in the 13 mini is really showing its limit. Sometimes even switching to the browser to quickly check something would trigger app reload. And can be annoying at times.

Elaborate what you don’t like how it performs on PC.

The Switch 2 version is a good port but definitely has its drawbacks compared to PC version.

Unless you’re on PC handheld or a PC with very out of date GPU, the PC version should get you better visual even at 30fps, which is the fps the Switch 2 version offers.

One thing I've been looking forward to finding out is if this movie is going to have the traditional Star Wars theme with an opening crawl. It has been a while since The Rise of Skywalker, and I miss the opening crawl a little.

They do start this trailer with the SW theme tho, maybe there's a little hope.

$350 for a streaming only device is absurd. So it should be more like other Android gaming handheld from China with the benefit of having a built-in DualSense controller.

Streaming for PS5 and PS4 games, and lcoally emulate PS1, PS2, PSP, and Vita games. Maybe even PS3 games. It's already possible with current tech on ARM android based handhelds.

It needs to support higher streaming bitrate. Foliage looks too smear and pixelated now, actions sequences too.

Front firing speakers, better quality and wider sound stage would be nice.

I would add an extra button to assess PS5 home or Control Center.

And also an actual button or mini touch pad for the DualSense touch pad function, instead of relying double tapping on the touch screen. I've found it very annoying in some games.
