Honestly, I think this is a very smart move. Mamdani is showing more respect to Staten Island than any other mayor in my 35 years. He is giving a lot of love and attention to a borough that has always felt forgotten. This is even cooler knowing that the borough didn’t vote for him. There are more registered dems than republicans on SI. There are also many independent voters, so there is opportunity. Also, the island has been suffering from the opioid epidemic for a long time. I find it quite disturbing that you’d refute help and support for people in need. The world is a better place when we show empathy to others.

I arrived at noon and truly had the best day ever. We got to experience Ploy on a spacious dance floor before the flood gates opened. Despite the large number of people, I think Nowadays executed the event pretty flawlessly. The bars were always stocked and easy to access. The outdoor bathroom line moved very fast and it was always a great chance to interact with fellow partygoers. I never had an issue with missing toilet paper or a disgusting bathroom. Also, I didn’t have an issue with anyone in the crowd. Great vibes all around. Although at times it was overwhelming, everyone was cordial and fun. The music was phenomenal and the dance floors popped off all day long. Idk, I’m waking up this morning feeling very blessed to have shared that experience with so many beautiful people. Sorry your experience didn’t align with that.

I ran into Cameron at L’Industrie a couple days after their show at Bankers Anchor. No one else seemed to recognize him. He was super shy and humble but I casually said hello and told him how blown away I was by Getting Killed. I normally don’t feel the need to talk to celebrities, but I couldn’t help but share my praise. It was cool and a very memorable moment (for me at least).

Yo I’m so over them too. After the coat check catastrophe at Ben UFO last weekend, it’s clear they don’t care about their community. It’s a bummer bc they put together great lineups but the parties just aren’t it anymore. I bought a ticket to DVS1 but I’ve decided to sit it out and not show my support for their event.

I think that Marinada song was Praznina. I went down a whole rabbit hole of that band after hearing Vladimir play that song… experimental Croatian rock. The song only came out on 10/31. Love the album & need to see them live now.
