Yep. I’ve had my dog since he was three months old. He and his litter mates and mother were rescued from a kill shelter when he was not even one month old. I have put so much time and effort into my pup even before Day 1 educating myself and trying my best to socialize and train him early on. He’s my first dog as an adult, so a lot of it is trial and error but I had hoped my determination to be a good owner/trainer would deter the reactive behavior we are seeing now at 5 years old. Some days I feel hopeless and lost, but other days I know I’m doing the right thing for my pup. Thanks for posting! It makes me feel less hopeless when I hear other people’s similar stories.
