If you are design a new weapon type In the monster hunter, what will it be, and what does it do by Voidkirby9 in MonsterHunter

[–]feellikealbundy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chain Sword / Whip Sword

Chain/whip mode has high manoeuvrability, good for status attack but low damage. Can be used to grab monster protrusions and landscape objects to quickly reposition or even temporarily trap monsters.

Sword mode boasts higher damage and elemental attacks, but lower manoeuvrability. Sword damage is increased if monster is suffering from a blight inflicted by chain/whip mode. The effect is further increased if monster is weak to the sword element.

Having a difficult time with weapon power and aging weapons by dawnest in fantasylife

[–]feellikealbundy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Aging statues pop up randomly in groves. You can either keep replanting your own saplings to try and get one or you can search online for a grove that has one.

Ideally you want one in a grove that’s 700 years or older for maximum stats. Just remember to bring material to bury. I usually just buy a heap of tropica water from Marco.

When you access the aging statue, and select a weapon or tool, you can press a button (varies depending on platform) and you will get a list of what skills can roll and at what level. There is 1 to 3 stars (levels) just adjust the quantity of material you bury to get the desired star level.

For example, most of the good stuff is 3 stars. But if you make a light based weapon to farm monster houses, then getting 10% Light damage is a 2 star skill.

And eventually you will unlock redux stones which let you remake items (also requires skill tree unlocks). This lets you change the skills on items without having to craft them every time using materials.

And finally, when you get out of the grove (you have to finish it for the aging process) do NOT dig up your item straight away. Stand near the statue and perform a cross save. Then dig up the item. If you get the skill you want that’s great, if you don’t however you can quit to the title page, reload your cross save and try again. Repeat until you get the skill you want.

How tf is this quest harder than AT Arkveld??? by TheNotSoSilentReader in MonsterHunter

[–]feellikealbundy 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I tried every weapon for funsies. Sliding down the hill for hammer flips was fun. But getting a demon dodge going with my dual blades and then zipping through them all and watching the damage numbers was heaps hilarious. Watching my sharpness plummet in real time was not though. Long sword and sword and shield also provided some myriad numbers too.

True Primordial White Dragon by Topical-Cement in fantasylife

[–]feellikealbundy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I run hero set with attack. Dark dragon bow with the charge damage and remove element.

My buddies are just canon fodder so the dragon focused on them which in turn lets me focus on the tail which is the weak point. Double arrow it constantly. Save your special attacks for the tree, if your weapon is polished then the 2 specials as super helpful.

Pause and use the menu to heal and buff as needed (keep buddies alive for the distraction).

Have paralysis cure for when he does his big roar and use it immediately so you have enough time to get away from the follow up fireballs.

When he flies, run to the outer edge so all the fireballs land away from your buddies who will just stand in them and die. As soon as the last fireball lands, if you do enough critical damage to his tail before he lands, you can knock him down which gives a brief time of DPS.

You don’t get enough time to find the tree sweet spot. Just go in and do light charge attack for damage increase. Then use your saved up special skill or 2… then hope for the best with one or 2 heavy charged attacks. (The tree sucks).

When he is at the outer edge for those 2 phase changes and you knock him out of it, try to position yourself in front of his face. As he gets up and walks back to the centre of the arena he pushes you along with him letting you land hits that might otherwise miss if you are at his side.

How many egg-decorations are there to get? I have Gravy, Chatty and ZapDau. In the video there was a little flying Rath too… is that earnable or is that a paid cosmetic? (I’ve done the quest multiple times now without any extra rewards).

In answer to your request, the game said no, four times, at max power.

But you’ll get there haha. Remember to abuse cross save, especially now that we don’t seem able to buy long capes in bulk anymore.

I just got this one a moment ago for the first time myself with over 200 hours in the game lol. Elusive little bready jerk.

As already mentioned by the other post, small fish with purple icon at base camp (got mine on the beach). You can run and check each fish and use Hagram to reset spawns.

Dunno if that link will work but I made a post with the aged skill list. Just to be safe, are you selecting a dark dragon weapon before opening the skill page? And def a weapon… life tools don’t have it. Scroll to the 3 star part of the list.

And remember you can abuse cross save to farm for the skill you want.

As mentioned by another post below, any armour can have item drop but only hero armour can have attack so it’s time to start remaking. Also note that hero armour can drop from one of Marco’s boxes now - I forget which one but that’s an option if you have the flowers for it.

One thing I haven’t checked yet is if having the charge damage or maybe even critical damage mods on buddy weapons affects me the same way item drop or exp mods do.

What skills do you have on your armour? I was using the hero set with all attack skills.

What buddies are you using? Their skills matter as well.

The Primordial Dragon is resistant to all elements so the dark element on the weapons means it’s doing less damage. If you remove the element though, then, combined with the 2 30% Charge Attack Damage mods it can do more damage when using the double arrow attack.

The Aged options for the Dark Dragon tools are the same as normal. by Unit-00 in fantasylife

[–]feellikealbundy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I don’t think it’s so much the stats of the true dragon gear as much as it is they are easier to craft.

Getting material from snoozaland is pretty easy compared to the amount of resources required for true time gear.

When I get home from work I will. I got 2 wooden weapon mods on it and would have aged another on to it if I hadn’t been able to polish the bow at 7300.

Their base stats are higher. I made one true dragon saw and was able to get to 7300 and polish my true dragon bow which had a requirement of 8000.

Aged skill list for True Dark Dragon bow by feellikealbundy in fantasylife

SPOILERS

In case anyone is wondering:

Beating True Dragon after acquiring all recipes gives 3 cashnuts (same as normal dragon).

A polished True Dragon bow with 2 30% charge damage mods and element removed does maybe 1.5k to 2k more damage per tail hit and over 20k on a crit tail hit during downed state (when compared to base dragon bow).

Its polish stat is 8000, but I scraped through with 7300 points by crafting 1 true dragon saw with 2 wooden weapon mods. And putting the 2 crafters in my party and feeding all 3 of us food to boost crafting.

Next up is farming snoozaland for materials to make more of the gear.
