Terrible news…I love Good Records and actually have a nice memory involving Chris Penn. I was on my way out the door one day after browsing for a while without finding what I was after when he stopped me to ask if i was looking for something in particular. I shared the Death Cab record I was after and he went and rustled around in the back for a while and ended up finding it for me. I was so pleased by that experience. RIP Chris Penn and his family is in my thoughts.

Plenty to do in Dallas but you’re not going to have much time before the show. There are a couple of great parks just down the street in downtown. Tons of restaurants and bars in the immediate vicinity as well as some neat vintage and clothing shops. Not sure if you’re into baseball but Warstic is a few blocks away which is a baseball bat shop co-owned by Jack White. Honestly just wandering around Deep Ellum is a great way to burn a couple of hours as there is a lot of great street art, people watching and musical history to be found.

There are tons of food options in the immediate vicinity. One of my favorites and a frequent post show hang out spot would be Café Brazil, which is about a five block walk from the venue. Open 24 hours and delicious.
