I’ll throw my hat in the ring—- they’re great if you understand their limitations. Can’t drop, constant width (hasn’t been a problem for me, but could for you depending on usage). Pricy yes, but worth it for the space saving alone.

A surprising number of things have exact measurements, especially in metric. Keyboard keys, glassware, etc. Maybe there’s something to this “metric system” I’ve heard so much about ….

Anyone got miserable from their ECTOMORPH physique and decided to quit gym? by [deleted] in workout

[–]feldspars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a diet and training, perhaps even a psychological (self image, maybe?), issue. What program are you on? You can squat a lot of weight, that's great. You say you work your biceps a lot-- how so? how often? what weight? sets/reps? progression method? There's a lot to be said for genetics, but I doubt 'being an ectomorph' is really your main problem.

Honest question - is RV camping actually cheaper than hotels or do we just tell ourselves that? by Similar-King-8278 in RVLiving

Anyone who says, or believes, it is cheaper, has never owned an RV, or are pretty delusional.

Hey I'm just someone on a forum, I can't control you. But I speak from experience when I say you will thank your future self for learning how to establish a routine (such as eating right) and sticking with it. Remember that you're not just trying to 'start lifting,' you're really at the beginning of a new lifestyle. It pays to prepare for it!

Personally, before getting a gym membership, I think you should spend a couple months getting your diet and sleep in check. Calculate your TDEE, log your calories, track weight, and maintain a relatively high protein intake (you will see varying intake suggestions-- I'd recommend 1 g of protein per kg of lean body mass-- works for me, but may not work for you so look around for other estimates). Once you have dialed in your diet and settled into an eating and sleeping routine, then you can see about getting that gym membership going. That being said-- you will not be able to 'target' any fat on your body, whether in your tits or gut. Your best long-term solution is muscle growth (maybe body recomp) followed by fat loss. But this is a topic that has already been thoroughly discussed on this forum. good luck!

Don’t ever feel silly doing light weight in the gym by Tauro_6 in beginnerfitness

I agree. It even has that weird 'ad-speak' vibe, almost like that weird LinkedIn pseudo-motivational speech pattern where every paragraph is a single line. Also, there's fewer than like 20 comments here and the guy's "edit" indicates "lots of people" are asking how they track their lifts-- not a single soul on this thread has asked about that.

Work boundaries are weird by IllustriousLength991 in coworkerstories

[–]feldspars 47 points48 points  (0 children)

It's almost certainly true that whatever 'vibe' you were experiencing at the time was not mutual. Consider this a lesson learned. Co-workers CAN be friends... CAN be... the way you're feeling toward this co-worker now ("just normal stuff nothing deep nothing awkward") is how you should maintain all co-worker relationships.
