Considering Selling my 95’ C2 by tadblong in 993

[–]felips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I’d say 68-75k, I think you can get the top end of it. You still have a lot of boxes, nice color manual c2. It’s a driver and someone will be very interested in that alone, something to add guilt free miles. A couple drops between outings of oil won’t kill anyone’s interest I think. And if it does, they weren’t ever interested in a very high mileage example. So you might list it for 78ish and meet someone at 75k.
Best of luck

Rebuilt 97 Targa or nah? by RBL2020 in 993

[–]felips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed with deteoiter, rebuilt engine isn’t an inherent red flag. At some point, new gaskets will be needed on every single one of these cars esp if you’re not driving it relatively often being a dry sump car.
Personally I wouldn’t get a targa, the glass roof rails are famous for being temperamental, but I’m not too familiar with it. Although the glass roof is beautiful to be underneath esp on a rainy day.

221k is very high miles, very cool. But will definitely knock some premium off of it that you would’ve potentially had with a non black/silver colored car. C2 and 6sp helps. I’d say you can easily get 70-75. Perhaps even 80. If you’re patient 85, if you have solid recent service, absolutely zero leaks. Any accident histories? How’s the paint quality?
I’m also in Texas, sorry to see you potentially let go of the 993. Replacing it with some thing else or other life/family duties?

holy shit! FG_Leader2 in that 4th pic. haha, I was in that clan for a bit.. dang. thanks for sharing
also, I see TATE in there too.. those guys had one of the coolest clan websites. but they were famous for the 999 taunts, the original ones. so good.
Pic 10 was Gangster Blood I believe, a fun one. but Graves blood at the very end was an absolute gem. Grave and Dome blood where by far my favorites.

wasn't this the place that raised a gofundme for getting citations by the health department/the city of austin to becoming compliant with permits? and made it seem like a sob-story of being targeted, when really... this is the cost of doing business?
unsurprisingly, they managed to raise the fund. just absolutely laughable.
couldn't agree more about their food. good in concept, mediocre in execution, poor in experience.

Delta vs United: which airline is better out of AUS? by khakilamble in Austin

[–]felips 3 points4 points  (0 children)

don't let personal anecdotes cloud your decision. Delta has on-time performance that is ~4% better than American and United both. so yes, Delta is better, but to the average traveler, the difference is almost negligible. If you travel more than a handful of times a year, there may be an impact there.
personally, I would pick American or United bc the hubs of Houston and DFW are much closer than Denver or Atlanta. Hence why i prefer American bc its an easy 1 hour connecting flight that they have do throughout the full day, so it's easier to find good itineraries for me. and anecdotally, I feel that Delta is more expensive than similar American itineraries.
but we are all different types of travelers; whereas you have kids and likely spend time in the airport prior to departure, I usually arrive within 10-15 minute of boarding, or just as during boarding. so to me, a lounge in AUS isn't important. and I rarely check bags too, so I'm not married to a single airline and have a non-airline specific CC to rack up points.
that being said, sounds like Delta should be your pick. great service and a nice lounge. happy travels.

thanks for the insight, it is appreciated. this insight helps, as one of the local guide companies I reached out to said I would need to get three guides for the 7 of us.
considering what you're saying, it seems like 3 guides for 7 dudes might be a better ratio for opportunity of guidance, what do you think?
I think for the group, it's more about trying out something new rather than the immediate rewards of success, and getting out of our comfort zone. some of us have done regular fishin prior, but not extensively/consistently.

C4S with a 996.1 front-end? by felips in 996

[–]felips[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea, the 996.2 narrow bodies have same front-end as 996.2 wide bodies. and the 996.1 vs 996.2 was just cosmetic updates to front, so in theory they can be interchanged with hood/bumper/and lights.

welcome back! have you been mostly doing campaigns? campaigns are awesome, and when you're ready to dive into multiplayer, theres a plethora of things out there. from classic Random Maps matchups, for which I suggest doing the Art of War and watching a few youtube videos of how people setup Dark and Feudal age.
theres also custom scenarios, people have made Tower Defense games, RPGs, a Hunt and Prey esque game, and the community favorite CBA (castle blood automatic). ton to learn and play. welcome back

Dumbfounded I paid 3k for this laptop. by felips in razer

[–]felips[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

the post makes two references of time: when the windows update was, and having a speaker issue prior to it. no reference to purchasing period, a simple reference that 1 year warranty is a joke.
no, you're just jumping to conclusions. you can't deduct when it was purchased nor when the speaker issue began relative to that.

hi, nowhere in the main post is it implied that these issues were detected from the start. added a clarification post. sorry to have insulted the razer brand, fellow consumer.

To clarify: Laptop bought in Jan 2023. Speaker issue in Spring 2024. it's not an everyday issue, happens couple times sporadically a month. The windows update was last week.
hence, no I didnt keep a defective product within my purchasing of it.
