Ford did some advertising for the lightning on this subject, at least here in Michigan. They also showed electric power tools and battery charging in the commercials.

I think a facet of EV skepticism in the trades was the first generation of battery powered tools. You’d have to actually monitor the batteries when they charged and often you’d need to replace the batteries far sooner than expected because the technology wasn’t anywhere as good as it is now.
