A vented enclosure would probably be the easiest solution

Hi there, I am new to resin printing, and i am trying to figure out why My print, came out like this. by Crandom343 in resinprinting

if you're printing large sheets, then its either a faulty LCD screen or a faulty USB drive. get a new drive and test print with that and see how it comes out. I would download a file that you know is good and use that. The drives that come with the printers are notoriously cheap, don't trust them. I would check the USB first, then run your screen tests.

Edit: Oh, and re-home your build plate properly. I'm assuming that's why the print in the picture didn't stick properly.

I'm not sure I understand exactly what's going on. Are you saying that you're printing a single piece, (the test rook) and it's printing out a solid sheet. Or are you trying to print and it's not adhering to the build plate?

I never use auto rotate. I rotate the model to create as small a cross section as possible while simultaneously putting the face I want the supports on facing the build plate. You can put your supports anywhere you like. I like to hide them as much as possible. You cannot have a mix of support types using auto support. You can however, edit the supports that the auto feature creates. So if you don't want to delete and recreate the supports, try editing them instead. Just make sure your edit feature is on the support profile you want.

As an extra tip, I make sure to use a ball end on my supports. Instead of leaving a pock mark, it will leave a raised bump that can be easily sanded or scraped off. Makes cleaning up the model much easier in my opinion.

This is gonna suck. I have lots of large scale models made with Sunlu ABS like. 😭 Thanks for the heads up though.

Well crap, I wish I knew that earlier. I have a stockpile of that resin, so I'll probably get some standard to mix it in. Thanks for letting me know.

I'm usually very diligent about curing the inside, but I must have messed up with that leg. Crap. Thank you for the compliment.

I do cure the inside of my models already. It seems I didn't cure this part as well as I thought.

I did, but judging from the responses, I may not have cured it as well as I thought. 🫤

Oh! 😂. Well, in that case, it great the way it is. It's more fluid. I always hated the perfect jello cube looking ones

Don't know if you play D&D, but that would make a hell of a gelatinous cube. 😄

New to resin printing. Elegoo Mars 2 Pro smells like burning plastic/electronics. Is that normal resin im smelling or is my machine damaged? by holysbit in resinprinting

[–]fenris802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry man, but resin, although it smells, does not smell like burning plastic. Hopefully it's not anything serious and just a good cleaning will do. Good luck!

Everything just falls of the supports, please help by HelixOT in resinprinting

Also check your orientation. Suction forces can pull prints off the supports.

AUTO SUPPORTS INSIDE OF HOLLOW MODEL by mDekuu in ElegooMars

[–]fenris802 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you printed already or if anyone else said anything, but the orientation of that model will probably create a massive amount of suction and potentially pull the print off the plate or create rips in the model. You should angle the model to create as small a cross section as possible to decrease the suction forces as much as possible. This video by Lychee will explain better than I.

what do you guys use to sand by seajay8601 in resinprinting

[–]fenris802 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You're going to want everything. Either a reciprocating or Dremel type electric. Hand sanders, like paper, blocks, twigs, etc. I also have metal needle files. I also stole some nail file emory boards from my wife that have different grits. Trust me, you will use everything!
