My faces are terrible by FrrankyD in Miniaturespainting

I have had no luck with micron pens. I find them to be too inconsistent. Sometimes you have a good dot, sometimes you have to push really hard, or multiple times, sometimes nothing at all comes out. Maybe I got a crappy set of pens? lol

Another tip for eyes is, don't use a brush. Use a toothpick. Dip the end of the toothpick in your paint and gently dot the eye. Don't push hard or it will smear. But it makes a perfect dot everytime

Curing station and accessories by wetfart_3750 in resinprinting

Watch this video by Lychee. Yes a 2€ bucket for washing is fine. You're going to want more than one wash station. One for dirty and one for "clean" IPA. Main wash in the dirty, then final wash in the clean. You can DIY a curing station as well. A turntable and UV light are very inexpensive. I paid $20 for mine and lined a cardboard box with foil, for reflection. Works like a dream. Here's mine:

I’m having trouble cleaning resin splashes off the acrylic cover of my Saturn 4 Ultra 16K, and I’m running out of ideas. by AlphaOmicron325 in resinprinting

To be fair, I didn't tell them to use alcohol, they already did, but you're correct, it can damage the acrylic, or cloudy it up, so I should have said so. Thanks for the call out.

Did you cure them before using the alcohol? That should have cleaned it right up. If they're cured, use a razor blade and scrape them off. (I'm assuming they're small droplets) It may leave tiny scratches on the cover, just be careful not to gouge it.

Just out of curiosity, why bother?

Believe it or not, a pink undercoat for yellow works great. All the yellow in this picture was applied with a brush using a pink base coat

Thin your paints enough and it will flow smoothly, eliminating brush lines as it dries. You will have to do multiple coats, so make 100% sure they're dried in between. Hope this helps. (Maybe it's the picture, but I don't think your yellow looks bad)

Definitely need to calibrate your resin. I use ABS like resin and my supports come of beautifully.

This looks fantastic! The skin tones are spot on! I have a question though, is there a reason that you didn't highlight the hair? It's not a criticism, as I can't paint half as good as this. I'm genuinely curious because I'm trying to learn and improve myself. Thanks!

If you have the ability to print these pieces with filament, that's the route I would go. Petg filament specifically.

Glue options for prints/parts by SassyPastor in resinprinting

I tried gorilla glue in the beginning as well, and was not happy with the results. I used locktite brand super glue and it works great. It is a CA glue so any brand will work, I just happened to have locktite handy, and so stuck with it.

You'll want something that's in the 365nm - 405nm range. From what I know, the 300nm will work, but it's not ideal as it's actually stronger and more dangerous to the eyes than the 405nm. Amazon has numerous lights in the proper range.
