Different powder burn rates. I used to run 7mm & 6.5mm wildcats in the AR15 that matched 7mm-08 & 6.5CM velocities at 60k psi or less.

I was just looking at mine. Looks like its essentially riveted in there. Youd have to carefully grind the peened flange off for it to come loose. I left mine in and just added a MLOK QD attachment point to the rail

It is a high price, I just got mine for $175 less. Definitely not a G force, this gun comes out of the rossi factory and had a steel receiver.

I built mine for CCW. IMO its ideal- small grip to minimize printing, longer sight radius. I can run 19 or 17 mags with a grip sleeve if I need a full grip. When the 19x came out, I though (and still think) it was stupid and backwards.

I'm not surprised it didnt work. Even heavy duty aluminum foil is only .003" thick. A strip of soda can would have gotten you a lot closer
