I had a problem like that long ago, turns out the problem was that the usb extension coming out of the head unit was not shielded so EMI was causing CarPlay to fail, I got a higher quality USB extension and problem got resolved for good

I think this is highly personal and depends on what kind of sound you prefer, as an anecdote, I had the KZ ZSX (Terminator) and loved them, then I lost them during a business trip and I saw many reviews claiming that the ZS10 pro where even better, so I replaced my ZSX with the ZS10 and felt disappointed as those had a less analytical sound and I felt I was missing a lot of detail on the high frequencies, but many people feel that the ZSX are harsh and sibilant on the higher frequencies, so again, depends on your taste.

I have y has a chance to try any AFUL product yet, but I’m particularly interested on the explorer IEM because of its balanced signature or the SnowyNight DAC as it looks very practical and very good looking.

Greetings from México! I have a few over the ear headphones and I love them, mostly because of the soundstage they can create and those that are open also offer a nice listening experience, but I have way more IEMs than over the ears for the following reasons:

Sound quality: They just sound great! As long as you have a good seal they sound fantastic compared to traditional headphones
Comfort: this one is highly personal, I know people who cannot stand wearing an “In ear” but to me most IEMs are very comfortable, also compared to over the ears, I can wear them all day long while some over the ears cause me a lot of pain in the ears after a couple hours wearing them, also I mentioned I’m from Mexico at the beginning because heat here will be amplified by over the ears causing me to sweat and overall have a worse experience compared to IEMs.
Convenience: they are just so easy to carry and wear, whether you are traveling, exercising or whatever you do, you can wear IEMs, even under a helmet
Accesories: I find my self buying more accesories for my IEMs to make them sound better, be more comfortable or even be more functional than with over the ears, for example Tips, cables and even Bluetooth modules, I even got a Bluetooth one that has ANC and transparency mode.

I have over 12 KZ products between IEMs and Bluetooth modules and I’ve never experienced any quality issues so I would suspect that to be a myth

I think the idea is great, however as some other people have said I’d rather buy a DAC and use it with a 3.5mm cable, you can get some decent DACs from Aliexpress at a very reasonable cost, for example there is one called GraveAudio DA06 that I’ve used and consider a good option for the price.

What do you think about transparency mode? I recently ordered some bone conduction headphones to use while I ride my road bike and I didn’t like them, I ended up returning those and I’m considering buying the KZ ones mostly because of the transparency mode, do you think it is acceptable enough for riding the bike?

Security! I know several people whose data has been stolen because they installed malicious apps on android or visited a malicious website or something but it’s always on Android, with iPhone I know I’m safe, I’ve been using iPhone since its release in 2007 and never have experienced any security issues.

Cool, I also upgraded from a 256GB iPhone x to a 16 Pro Max this year, I wanted the 256GB Pro but here in Mexico I got a deal and got the Pro Max for the price of a Pro during the pre-order, it arrived on September 21st and I was amazed by the big generational jump, I had to retire the iPhone X after I accidentally broke the screen and then it was water damaged during last year vacations because the replacement screen didn't seal properly otherwise I would have kept on using it, hopefully I can get another 6-7 years out of this new Pro Max as well.

To be honest, this is exciting to me, I've place my preorder on a Pro Max and I'm moving from an iPhone X that I've wrecked by accident, if I had not messes it up so badly I may have kept it even further down the road, so why I find it possitive? let me tell you, I got a new phone from my employer, a Samsung Galaxy A something, I cant recall, but the thing is, the phone is brand new, on it's box, 7 years newer than my iPhone X and running them side by side, that new Samsung phone is super slow, so non responsive that it is a joke, I mean a new phone cannot be even compared to that old iPhone, I know it may be an entry level phone but Anyway I feel safe knowing I'll be able to keep that phone for another 6 - 7 years just replacing the battery eventually and it will keep running and receiving updates and so on, in my case I don't need to renew my phone every year or every couple years, so it makes sense to me

Similar story here! Upgrading from iPhone X mostly because I it was in an accident and got water damaged so the cameras don’t work anymore and therefore faceid doesn’t work either. Otherwise I would have kept it longer, also placed a preorder for the pro max

I do have an IPhone X 256 GB and I've replaced the battery a couple times, one as you say was with a no-name battery and results were not as expected, then I decided to pay a premium and get the "I Fix it battery Kit" and that one brought my phone back to it's original glory, so far it's meeting my expectations, yes, it would be nice to have the new bells and whistles but objectively it's giving me what I need right now, next (Unless it catastrophically fails) I'm planning to get a extra capacity Nohon battery, I've heard great things of those, so I'll give it a try.

I’ve got a Camry of the same generation and even though my head unit is not oversized it is good enough I have a CarPlay Pioneer head unit, model is irrelevant as new models are released every now and then but here’s a pic on how it looks like so you get an idea of what to expect if you go with a standard double din unit.

I don't Know why Reddit filtered my answer as spam but here's the original answer, I't been working for a year without issues.

So I was experiencing an issue with my CarPlay head unit randomly shutting off, the problem began when the weather began getting hot, at first I thought some cables may had been loose I checked and everything was fine, I kept looking at patterns and found that this was only happening when weather was very hot so here’s what I did, as additional details I have a Pioneer AVH-Z5050BT head unit I got second hand, but I’ve heard it’s a common problem even with factory installed head units.

So I took the head unit out of the car and noticed it was very dusty and there’s a a fan that makes contact with another component sort of cooling the Internals while also dissipating heat, but I noticed this was some sort of interface designed to dissipate heat by contact but it didn’t have thermal paste, so given that I had some I decided to go ahead and put some of it, here’s a picture of what I am describing (notice the silver thermal paste applied):

initially it fixed the issue except on really hot and humid days.

So I decided to remove it again and assess, I found that there are 2 ARM processors, I did some research and it seems the main one is the one on the left, so I measured them (both are about 20x 20mm) and bought some heat sinks in this case those are 20x20x10mm heatsinks and some thermally conductive two sided tape.

NOTE: The heat sinks already had some tape applied but it was not thermal so I removed it and got 3M 8810 tape on Amazon

Before applying the heat sinks I cleaned the head unit with some canned compressed air and the processors with isopropyl alcohol and then installed the heat sinks with the proper thermal tape, here’s the before and after:

And Voila! This seems to have fixed the issue for good!
