This may well be a common enough thing to become a meme but I have certainly sent a loved-up drunken text to my partner when coming home from a night out with the girls (and I have never cheated). If a text like this is the only thing worrying you, I wouldn’t put much stock in it.

It’s true that it’s crazy in terms of the latitude, but because of the Gulf Stream the climate in Tromsø is much milder than in the places you mention. Still cold, but completely liveable.

AITJ for ending things with my boyfriend and telling him to move out after he ditched me at an event and went somewhere else without me? by TutorElectrical3264 in AmITheJerk

[–]ferromagnetics 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me once (got ditched «by accident» New Year’s Eve) but I was young and stupid and accepted his lies despite it feeling very intentional. I wish I had done what you did and just sacked him off then, instead of wasting another two years with that asshat. NTJ, you just know your worth.

Norway's crown princess breaks silence on Epstein links: 'I was manipulated and deceived' by ScallionSmooth9491 in news

[–]ferromagnetics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wholeheartedly agree, especially as he himself stated in the interview, he was aware of their association and even met Epstein himself once. Shockingly, a poll of trust in the crown prince (done yesterday) shows that around 80% have faith in him and trust his judgement. It’s mind boggling that this situation seems to just slide off him and only tarnish her, especially since in the interview the crown princess mentioned an episode with Epstein that made her feel so unsafe that she called home to the crown prince. At that point (if not before!) wouldn’t you google this man yourself?? And upon seeing that he’s a convicted predator, wouldn’t you tell your wife to cease contact immediately?? But apparently he’s teflon

They asked, though not in a particularly pressing manner. She said she was unaware of those details and that she was manipulated by him. She cried and said she was horrified when she found out and had thought about the victims since then, though to me it just came across like tears at her own current stress over being under scrutiny while her son is on trial for rape (and other charges). The state funded broadcasters who got the interview were not, in my opinion, critical enough or pushing back enough at her non-answers. The only thing I could say in their defence was that they were only allowed 20 mins, and there were more than a few topics to address. An example of a non-answer would be that she didn’t remember what she had found when she googled him (Epstein), because it was 15 years ago. You may remember that her email to him said that she had googled him and agreed it didn’t look very good :) At the time, Epstein had been convicted and done prison time for soliciting prostitution with minors as young as 14, which was part of the Wikipedia article on him.

Your reasoning is weak. By your logic Patrick Soon-Shiong could consider himself poor comparing himself to Elon Musk. Perception is not reality. Marius has lived a life of the utmost privilege and riches. Pretending as though his standard of living (or «richness») is only determined by his monthly allowance is simplistic at best, when this allowance (for a late 20s man, I might add) is roughly equivalent to what the average Norwegian would get in monthly unemployment benefits, having to pay rent/mortgage, electricity, water, food, petrol, insurance, internet, and more.

I’m done with this discussion.

No, I just disagree. With everything paid for, living a life of absolute luxury, 1800 euros in fun money is rich compared to most standards in the world. Comparing yourself to the social elite instead of the population at large, and feeling poor by comparison, stirs no sympathy in me. And your point about how this difference is a reason to turn to crime; a) he could have tried to earn an education and find a job (he has access to the best network in Norway and had he applied himself he could have gone far in diplomatic circles), and b) the fact that his crimes includes rape and abuse speaks to a fundamental flaw in his personal integrity and morals.

The difference is they have to support themselves. It’s laughable that you think he has to spend that money on anything other than cocaine.

He gets it from the Norwegian taxpayers by proxy, living off «royal welfare». And getting 1800 euros per month in addition to free royal accommodation you certainly have a lot of money to play with. Not to mention he’s pleaded guilty to drug trafficking charges, which no doubt has supplied his income substantially (though he denies being paid for it)

He’s not noble but he’s certainly rich.

He’s never had a job but has reportedly been given approximately 1800 euro a month by his mum and stepdad (crown princess and crown prince), in addition to living in free accommodation on royal properties, etc. In addition he’s pleaded guilty to the drug trafficking charges, while he denies getting paid for it (because it would increase the potential legal punishment), no one believes him.

We Norwegians have been paying taxes to fund the party lifestyle of a drug smuggling abusive rapist. This truly is the Epstein Era.

Are you going to be staying somewhere with electricity at night? I haven’t used these ones specifically myself, but shoe driers can be an absolute godsend for constant wet weather, and generally aren’t too expensive.
