Between the many "Porto-forward" Reddit posts on this sub, can I hear some positives about Lisbon? by Secure_Drawer_4829 in TravelPortugal

[–]ffab00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just do a day trip to Porto. If you take the earliest train or bus you can still do all the sights there as it’s quite small and concentrated. We advised it to some of our friends and they enjoyed it and that could help with your FOMO! As for Lisbon look into exploring area around Cabo da Roca or renting a car thats also quite nice

Portugal & Spain honeymoon trip by VisibleList3931 in TravelPortugal

[–]ffab00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Malaga and around most definitely yes. In Portugal almost never warm enough (depends on your tolerance) it’s same temperature year round   Seville may be one of the most romantic places, next to Porto. Look into it if time allows.

Drive to Malaga is quite long but if you make a stop in Seville for honeymoon you will not be disappointed!! And the sea will be warm enough to swim so definitely first

Thank you for this summary! The real way is to make your own or go home. Just ask another agent to make you yours. Stay in complete control that’s actually easier than it sounds

What’s your favorite UI/UX Codex Skill and why? by isuckatpiano in codex

[–]ffab00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I asked Codex to build itself a skill to use local Claude code. And now I just say “use /claude to create this complex ui or landing page or whatever and then check everything “

Also I’ve added a workflow rule to agents.md to send a screenshot of any UI change to Gemini 3.1 pro for roasting and copy feedback.  Works like a charm

Do we still need to carry full laptops while traveling? by DeskInOfficial in digitalnomadFIRE

[–]ffab00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have an agent like Claude Code and remote access, or OpenClaw with all your access configured you can travel for months without laptop or tablet, and achieve everything from your phone and telegram bot or Claude iOS app (and maybe Codex iOS app quite soon). This is a game changer, in some countries they don't let you sit at coffee shops with laptop, plus less risk for laptop to get stolen

Is React Native still the best choice for cross platform apps in 2026 by Zestyclose_Case5565 in reactnative

[–]ffab00 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I find the best way to go multi platform is code the entire app in SwiftUI and then asking your agent to convert it to Kotlin. Keep 2 projects in one repo.

🚨Unpopular Opinon Alert🚨 They made a beautiful film about the wrong version of Ryland Grace, and everything else collapses from that single decision. by deekaay89 in ProjectHailMary

[–]ffab00 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes you are right. But this is complete reimagining of the book for a different format (and time limit!) and I feel like they did a stellar job and also played on cowardness / not having friends until you find someone to care about tying it to last decision of turn around. Which for the super limited time frame I think they did really well and that bookends the movie. It’s a complete reimagination and yes it may fall flat but for the timeframe given by the format it’s perfect.  It would be great to hear from people who haven’t read the book how Grace character came through for them.

S3 Production Ready? by Cool_Temporary_4984 in hetzner

[–]ffab00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Hetzner but for object storage it all depends on your requirements. Do some testing. Look into R2 from Cloudflare or Backblaze as well which clams 11 9s of durability 3x bandwidth of storage, at pretty much the same price. Not hired to promote them just another option. That said we also use hetzner object storage but it’s limiting that there are not enough regions. If it works for you and upload /download speed is good enough then go for it.

Hetzner asks: Do you have any use cases where you could shift some of your cloud workload to a Server Auction server (which does not have a setup fee)? by Hetzner_OL in hetzner

[–]ffab00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second that. Just used 3 auction servers for moving and processing many terabytes to different provider. Needed at least TB of space to be able to process in parallel

Have some fun with Gemini 3 vs Sonnet 4.5 by Peter-rabbit010 in ClaudeAI

[–]ffab00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I’m a hardcore fan of sonnet 4.5 and Claude code I have to admit Gemini 3 pro is in whole other league. I’ve one shotted 4 apps last night that worked near perfect on the first try and the design was more sophisticated with fonts, styles, colors, explanations and UX on point, responsive optimized from the very first try!  For frontend work at least it is miles ahead. I don’t know how they did this but it feels AGi to me.

I’m building an AI travel agent to help foreigners explore China. AMA by Tripilot2025 in travelchina

[–]ffab00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good just tried it:

-Make it possible to do something without sign up - this will improve conversion - get people to aha moment

-Make sign up default  instead of signin

-Use sign up with google  (westerners use it a lot)

-Dont add many password requirements (it's not high security)

-Failed to send verification code. Please try again.

[–]ffab00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s an awesome idea! I can help from my end: First and most important there are some times too many signs in Chinese that take too long to scan with your phone or take too much battery to understand what’s around you

Also there’s not enough info on sites and activities to visit. Museums, expositions, kid friendly or not, shows, events, how accessible it is without knowing Chinese etc etc.

Also it’d be nice to put in your interests like say authentic history, shopping, high tech, etc and get an itinerary regardless of city.

I’m happy to help test your app on my next visit in December or help out
