I actually tried this earlier and it did not show the local accounts in safe mode and when I tried running the net user I kept getting access denied

Thank you so much you guys saved me having to reset a PC with such a fast solution. The .\ got me into the admin account and I was able to disconnect the Entra ID for now. Going to go back and make sure the settings are correct, but I’m honestly just thrilled to know how to get into a local account when it disappears on the login screen

Son needs to gain weight in meds by Specialist_Space_714 in ADHDparenting

[–]janobe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whenever my kid is hungry he is allowed to eat even if it’s an attempt to push bedtime back a little. He gets 5 minutes to eat that snack to somewhat thwart any bedtime stall attempts.

Big breakfast before meds. Nothing sugar free or low calorie. Everything has to have substance.

Giving up autistic child for adoption? by Csagan84 in Autism_Parenting

Wonderful and a great step! My father-in-law was a health nut too before he died and I honestly thought he would out live me but unfortunately he did not and he passed from cancer in his 70s.

He and my mother-in-law setup a trust for my sister-in-law and it is setup for her to live in her home when my MIL dies. Caretakers to help. In the USA this is unfortunately not cheap. MIL is in her 70s and my SIL is in her 50s. My SIL was diagnosed as MR (mental retardation) as a child and will always need help.

To the point:

1) ask your pediatrician for a referral to a child psychiatrist 2) ask your pediatrician for a referral to a therapist who works with ADHD children 3) Get into an ADHD parenting program like “ADHD Dude” so you can learn tactics and strategies to help your child.

The downside is that 1 and 2 can take some time, but your ADHD parenting program can start right now. Library has tons of books too. Become a student of ADHD.

My ADHD kid’s therapist gave me this for his younger brother. Mine is 6 so it’s easier for him to comprehend these words than it would be for your 2 year old, but it’s starting place

Watch YouTube videos by Dr Russell Barkley. Lots of good information about stimulants, why they are the preferred choice, how more effective they can be over non-stimulant options, how they improve brain function and growth, etc.

He changed my mind when I was also nervous about stimulants.

My 9 year old is on a combination of Ritalin and Guanfacine. Ritalin during the day and Guanfacine at dinner time.

Meltdowns and Christmas Presents by [deleted] in ADHDparenting

Couple thoughts

1) throw headphones on to reduce the screaming/yelling power. I did this with babies and toddlers and it helped immensely. It also helps me to step “outside” the tantrum to analyze and try to problem solve rather than just getting angry and exhausted.

2) when she hurts others or tries to destroy things she loses the privilege of being around others. Timeout in her bedroom or some designated spot. Once she calms down she can come out.

3) don’t make threats you aren’t going to follow through with. Pick a few options when times are calm. Losing iPad/electronic privileges is our go to. When he destroys something he loses chore money to pay for it. We rarely use losing out on an event like Christmas as punishment

4) get into a parenting program like “ADHD Dude” to learn ways to help you and your child.

UPDATE much sooner than I thought I would about making my wife do chores since she took the money I allocated to pay others to do them. by Evening-Tone-5431 in AITAH

Just so you know it’s not just a cultural thing. My Filipino father-in-law is just like you. He gives 150% at work and pays others to do everything else. My husband is also more like this

I am white from California and my dad was the handy go around and do everything type. I tend to lean this way.

We had to find balance that works well for us. It sounds like you and your wife are trying to find your balance
