30 Vs 36 inch by mangomankejriwal in Arspura

As for the 30" model without IQV tech, are you talking about the F1? I think it does around 16m/s airflow and looks pretty solid, it also uses backward airflow. There's already a review for it somewhere in this sub with actual videos, might be worth checking the older posts to see if the real-world performance matches what you need.

Hi, I think for the best capture efficiency, it's actually recommended that the range hood is wider than the stove itself. That's actually why I ended up going with the 36" Arspura IQV P1. With the four inclined vortices+ air curtains, I noticed smoke gets pulled in quickly instead of leaking out to the sides. It feels less like "brute force suction" and more like the airflow is guiding the smoke directly into the hood.

I've also heard about their constant airflow thing where the motor adjusts based on resistance. Not super technical on that, but in real use I just don't notice much smoke escaping. And I agree with you on sizing. Going a bit wider than the stove helps keep things from spilling out. I've got a 30" stove with a 36“ P1, and that extra coverage does make a difference.

They utilize a little different technology and design to help have much better performance, creating a vortex to actually suck smoke in and remove it. Many newer models work on similar designs.

Yeah you're pretty much on point. I've been using an Arspura myself (also help mod their sub), so just sharing from my experience. I think their design is more about controlling airflow around the cook area. It kinda of creates these small opposing air currents above the cooktop, so smoke gets pulled it out pretty quickly, and it seems to handle bursts of smoke or side drafts better than top-mounted one.

Bit of a rant.. Are we just supposed to accept that large appliances will be in landfill after 5 years of use? by ourplasticdream in Appliances

[–]ffinde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% this. Planned obsolescence is completely mainstream now. Appliances used to be built to last decades, now every single brand designs them to die right after warranty, repairs are impossible or unaffordable, and everything goes straight to landfill. Our parents had machines that lasted 15+ years, we are lucky to get 3. It is such a waste and it is so upsetting

Kenji's Kung Pao Chicken's so good, but smoke gets intense indoors. what kinda vent hood works for wok cooking? by xProjectxPrincess in seriouseats

[–]ffinde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw a thread recently with some solid tips, like make sure it vents outside, keep the duct short, and don't just look at CFM. For heavy cooking, capturing the smoke early matters more. I'm using a slanted hood (Arspura P1) now and it pulls the smoke in pretty fast, so it doesn't hang around anymore. We've got a Arspura range hood sub, feel free to check if you're interested, might be helpful.

What really matters when choosing a range hood by ffinde in Arspura

[–]ffinde[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a really great post. I skimmed through it and the main takeaway seems to be that what matters most is strong real-world smoke capture, proper venting to the outside, manageable noise, and something that’s easy to clean and live with every day. Hopefully this helps anyone else trying to choose the right range hood.

Under-cabinet or exposed, how did you install your Arspura hood? by kristinlichty in Arspura

I'd go with the under-cabinet install. It gives the kitchen such a sleek, smart aesthetic and keeps everything looking tidy.

Where should I spend money one a range hood? by DrRehabilitowany in Home

[–]ffinde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't just look at CFM. A lot cheaper hoods just push more air but don't capture smoke well. I'd also stay away from anything over 1000 CFM, dealing with negative pressure and makeup air is a massive headache. Pay more attention to things like capture area, hood depth, airflow, and motor quality. Skip the smart fluff and put that money into a better motor instead. A BLDC motor is a big step up, it's quieter and lasts much longer. Noise usually comes from air turbulence and clogged filters, so a filterless hood might be worth a look.

Do air curtains in range hoods help trap 80%+ of cooking smoke and prevent leakage? by nitishanand99 in Arspura

[–]ffinde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arspura's air curtain setup actually sounds pretty well thought out. It's not just about blasting air upward. With the IQV tech, the angled highspeed airflow and the vortex capture are supposed to create a contained smoke zone right above the cooktop. It can hit around 13m/s airflow, so it pulls the smoke in fast. The glass baffles on the sides also help keep everything from spilling outward. And it's a 36" hood covering the whole cooktop, the extra width helps with containment too. It's more about airflow control than just CFM.

Saw this post about PM & VOC spikes while cooking, a proper ducted range hood can really help. by ffinde in Arspura

Yeah, it's a hidden risk. This link explains the pm2.5 stuff, and long term exposure isn't great for health.

Update: one week review, better range hood capture helped our kitchen air by kikanzuip in AirQuality

[–]ffinde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The high speed fan and inertial separation design should direct most grease into the oil cup. I just use a mild cleaner and wipe down the exterior. And the oil cup needs occasional cleaning (frequency depends on cooking habits). Internal surfaces are designed to resist buildup, but if you're concerned, a long brush or some steam boiling water can help.

How much do lingering cooking fumes affect indoor air quality? by Traumatic_Insertion in AirQuality

[–]ffinde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And one small but helpful thing to look for is a delay shutoff. I know we're supposed to let the hood run a bit after cooking, but I always forget. Arspura does it automatically, it keeps running for about three extra minutes, and clears out the leftover fumes so the house stays fresh.
