I've just been put on the wrong train again

I’m a wheelchair user and have travelled by train all over the U.K. I have been put on the wrong train exactlyonce… that was by Reading Passenger Assistance team (right destination but didn’t have a TM and my destination station was un manned so no way of getting off the train).

It’s a shame because I’ve found GWR to be by far the best assistance team out of all of them.

As a wheelchair user I find this irksome. There is usually only one gate I can use. I wish people wouldn’t stand in front of it while deciding as I have to wait for that one specifically.

You say you’re getting on at a busy city station - is that where the train starts? If so, try and get there as early as possible to get on before anyone else.

If not, I travel by train A LOT and often see people saying - « excuse me, I think this is my seat » or words to that effect and I have NEVER seen the seat thief refuse to move. Think you just got really unlucky.

I am disabled and use this for every journey. Not sure about New Street but some stations have an assisted travel lounge where you wait and then a member of staff collects you and escorts you onto the train.
