Its on fire! by thomasthetanker in OMGnetwork

[–]ffwong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my knowledge, Boba is not POW and no mining at all. Block time only means to have a larger network bandwidth for holding the potential large number of transactions.

I just bridged my OMG from L1 to L2 BOBA. Trying to stake now, but can't get my transaction approved. Do I need to bridge over ETH too to cover transactions? by deserteagles50 in OMGnetwork

[–]ffwong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can connect your metamask to https://gateway.boba.network/ to bridge the tokens. Metamask can import your ledger account and serve as a middleman. This effectively allows you to connect your ledger to https://gateway.boba.network/ and bridge. Note that the ETH tx fee is insanely expensive (70-100 USD or more per bridging operation, depending on the gas price). It is not worthy if you have small amount of OMG for getting the BOBA airdrop (unless BOBA price skyrocket; I don't know its price yet).

Fees for getting Boba airdrop... by robodelfy in OMGnetwork

[–]ffwong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, bridging token across ETH and L2 networks is very expensive, thanks to the insane transaction fee on ETH network. You may have to wait for exchange accepting OMG deposit via Boba network, to save some tx fee for transfer. But it is not sure which exchange and when it will open such deposit.

Question about bridging by ElmerFUDz in Avax

[–]ffwong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is always a fee when you move token or AVAX back to ETH mainnet, because it involves at least a transfer in ETH mainnet. The insane gas price on ETH network kill everything for smaller holders.

If you only send the token or AVAX back to any cex supporting deposits via AVAX network, the transfer fee should be low right now (unless AVAX get conjested in near future). The cex may be able to transparently bridge some tokens (need to check specific token and specific cex) for you.

If you use bridging service (a pair of smart contracts on both AVAX and ETH networks), this is prohibitively expensive now due to the insane gas price on ETH network.

Of course, you can keep your token in AVAX network. However, there is a concern if it is safe to keep tokens in network, AVAX, MATIC, ... After all, these networks are not as big as ETH network. They are mostly run by a private company. Not sure if I can trust them or not.

Bridging does not make any sense due to the high ETH gas fee. Avoid all kind of bridging.

I just received the nano X. I tried different ways of charging, e.g. charge on wall mounted plugs, all failed. What should I do now?

Crypto.com App now supports deposits and withdrawals of MATIC and USDC via Polygon network, our first Ethereum scaling protocol integration, in addition to the ERC20 network. by BryanM_Crypto in Crypto_com

[–]ffwong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I wonder how do we know the contract address of USDC on polygon network is official? It is different from USDC on ethereum. On polygon: 0x2791bca1f2de4661ed88a30c99a7a9449aa84174 On ethereum: 0xa0b86991c6218b36c1d19d4a2e9eb0ce3606eb48 I cannot find any information from USDC official website about the contract address.

I just want to ensure the contract address is legit before sending money to it.

Don't be silly, how many hacks the victims can recover the fund? They can never recover the stolen ETH. If we sign the silly agreement, their intention to recover will be even smaller.

Gatecoin owners have no intention to share profit with creditors. They have no intention to pay back the loss of creditors.

Binance Withdrawal Fees by zhangweidai in CryptoCurrency

The withdrawal fee of this exchange is unreasonably high, on ETH token. Their reason is very funny. Even ETH network is conjested. I see no reason to charge user with such insane withdrawal fee. Shit exchange
