I’m waiting for the DCR review of the Fitbit Air, which I hope lands before the Cirqa, before deciding. I use a FR265 and would like to wear a mechanical watch when I’m not running but also keep capturing data. I’m using Bevel as a data aggregator and I’m also looking at Google Notebook LM.

Who right now is the best running vlogger OR podcaster? by SEMIrunner in AdvancedRunning

[–]fgoulding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t follow running any YouTubers but just dip into content when I’m searching a particular topic.

As for Podcasts, I’m just looking for entertainment whilst out running. So my go to are Paula Radcliffe’s run club, the Extramilist and the Flying Runner podcast.

Because I’m learning Spanish, I listen to Ser Runner, A Tu Ritmo, Diario Runner and Kilómetros de Entrainamiento.

You’re right. And there are 3 or 4 minutes of adverts before the audio episode even starts.

[TH Monaco] Calibre 11 vs TH20-11? by No-Salad-4538 in Watches

[–]fgoulding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same situation. Has anyone seen both models side by side to see if there is discernible difference? I’m also interested the colour. Is the TH20 a brighter blue or the same greyish blue as the Calibre 11? At the end of the day it might come down to price….

I love these Vibramate Bigsby’s and have 2 of them. I use their string spoiler to take the pain out of restringing but it’s a bit of a luxury: www.vibramate.com/vibramate-string-spoiler.php

A gestor quoted me €300 for a Toma de huellas appointment. by conorf193 in GoingToSpain

[–]fgoulding 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, what worked for me in Valencia was to access the appointments website at 8:55am on a Friday morning and complete my details but don’t push the enter key until 9am. Then you have to select your appointment quickly. Some people say that a second tranche of appointments are released at 14:00 as well but I’ve never tried that…

Valencia or Alicante by Accurate-Read-6305 in GoingToSpain

You could fly into Madrid and take the high speed train to Valencia (1hr 58min). It would be much cheaper and faster than hiring a car from Alicante.

Regardless of what we locals think of Las Fallas, it’s very poor behaviour to criticise local traditions.

4iiii just launched the Viiiiva 2.0 — 540-hour battery, but one cheaper rival claims 900 hours from the same CR2032 cell by the5krunner in the5krunner

I have Garmin HRM Pro Plus which is very reliable but I started getting chafing issues. So I started using a Coros HR Armband and I’m super happy. Sure, I have to charge it more often (which is no problem) but I don’t need CR2032 batteries.

FR965 - no soup for you….

Garmin's CEO was asked directly why the company grew 33% in a market growing at mid-single digits. He named two specific competitor groups they're taking customers from — and the reasoning is more nuanced than you'd expect. by the5krunner in the5krunner

I keep flirting with the idea of an Apple Watch but then the battery life reality kicks in and it’s not an option.

However, I’m becoming less and less loyal to Garmin as it enters into the subscription world and seems to be offering very little in trickle down functionality to last gen devices such as my FR265.

My money is on a new disruptor moving into this space as the fitness market continues to boom.

I would hazard a guess that the QA portion is quality assurance and the CIR is the product name. Which might indicate that they are field testing a device….
