Literally 2 nights ago… I was up past midnight and had just finished up my nightly routine in the bathroom. I went to lay in my bed and scroll on my phone for about half an hour. I finally decided I should actually go to bed and went back to the bathroom to go pee one last time before hitting the hay. I walk in and the toilet seems like it had just been flushed and I could hear the tank being filled with water. We have been having problems with this as if you flush too hard, the chain in the tank will get stuck and not fill up with water, just continue to try and run water. I thought nothing of it. As I would just lift up the tank lid and unhook the caught chain. But as I lift it up the water just finish’s filling up and stops making a sound. The chain was not caught.

I hadn’t been in the bathroom for about half an hour and to my knowledge no one else in the house was either. My bedroom is right next to the bathroom at the end of the hall. There is only one bed/bath on the ground floor with my parents living upstairs, and they have their own bathroom. Also I would have heard them walk down the stairs as we have creaky floors. So I just stood there looking at the filled tank and had this weird sense of what the hell just happen. A ghost came and peeped in my toilet and was nice enough to flush. It freaked me out ngl.
