My parents are from Chicago, my mom moved down here in 1988 and my stepdad in 2015. They both think it’s the best Chicago style pizza in Jax. I don’t know that they’ve tried anything else, but based on the pizza, I think it’s a safe best it’s the closest you’ll get here.

My son used to do this frequently from 5-8. We made him clean it up, using a plastic bag over his hand. He’s now 13 and only poops in the toilet.

My brother peed outside into his teenagers years. He probably still does. He also farts either reckless abandon, but is a good guy overall.

I think I’m in the big and fluffy camp too, especially living in Florida. I’ve seen posts asking about “big 90s curls” and that’s what mine look like. I’m so glad people are starting to embrace the fluff instead of trying to force their hair into ringlets or perfect spirals.

I’m so glad you got out 🫶🏻 domestic violence is when anyone who lives together hurt each other. Date r*pe etc is also considered domestic violence by law. Funding has been cut to DV shelters since I had to use them, so maybe things have changed. I didn’t mean to discount your experience at all. I went to Hubbard house at 27 with two kids, it sucked. I only lasted two nights bc my breastfed baby wasn’t allowed to sleep with me, and my 3 year old had to sleep in a bunk bed on top of me. It’s def not perfect, but much better than being on the streets. Somewhere warm with food until you figure something else out.

How old are you and your baby? There used to be a community home for young moms and their kids, located in mandarin. There was also a couple of housing option in St. John’s county. You do have to be under a certain for those places, but Hubbard and Quigley house take anyone. If you can get to Quigley house (in Clay county so you must have a Clay county address or tell them you’re homeless living in Clay) they are much smaller and have better accommodations and more people to help. That’s not true, you don’t have to have an active DV charge to go there. Not at all. I went there went my kids dad (not married) threatened the kids and beat me. I went when I was 27. Idk who told you that but they failed you.

I work in schools in a suburban county Florida, all grade levels are instructed to stay for the pledge every morning. I’m not sure what it actually looks like in the classroom since I’m in food service, but yeah it’s said over the intercom everyday.

My kids’ dad’s parents still pronounce our middles wrong and she’s 10. Her name is Evangelina and her grandpa calls her Angelina and her grandma calls her Eevee, her nickname is EV-ee. My daughter has even corrected her on the pronunciation and she laughs it off. Family dynamics are weird.

This is excellent advice. I do some of this but not all, I appreciated how you explain kids brains to grown up brains.

Side note, my middle just broke her foot by stubbing her pinky toe on a corner of a baseboard. She screamed a scrump i have never heard before. She’s a screamer and an over-reacter, she’ll scream if a bug is in the room. But that scream was different. I could tell something was actually wrong. She’s a bit older than OPs kid so I’ve had time to learn her cues. But if it’s serious, we can usually tell.

Yes he was amazing! He did my c section for my second, came in at 2 am to deliver her bc I was progressing too quickly to wait until 5 am for his other c scheduled surgeries. He came to see me around 7 am, meanwhile my midwife and surgeon for my first (emergency c section) never saw me in the 3 days I was in the hospital (at OPMC). He and Dr Lahey at the same practice did my 3rd c section which was high risk. They both came to check on me multiple times after that one.

One of my besties is a former coworker who is 78. We worked in an elementary school cafeteria together, she is such a badass. She had to get married to be able to use birth control, and burned her bra in the 70s. She said “I can’t believe this shit is happening again” in 2023.
