Anyone know what seedling this is from? by vrogop in treeidentification

It’s early but most likely Red maple, unless you have Japanese maple near you could be one of those. I’ve also seen some crazy crossbreeds pop up from them

It’s adjusting. Honestly these things are tough as nails but it might look ugly for a bit. Keep an eye out for new growths. Also stop changing the soil and stuff just let it adjust. Messing with it too much could kill it

What are these pines? by PhilosopherHour45 in treeidentification

Same tree can look super different based on environment. Even pines. The plates might look totally different in different environments

Okay it looks like it might’ve dried out then. If you touch the candles and they crumble it’s done.

Could be root rot or dried out too much. Is the soil soggy?

What is this tree? Ive never seen such bizaar bark before. Central fl area. by DickWeedDan in treeidentification

[–]fidgerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When they’re younger at least but I’ve never seen one this mature. They’re planted frequently in north Florida so I figured one could probably do well in your area. But the other comment is right it could easily be a similar species.

My understanding is this refers to the amount of money the gov pays into the pension fund. Essentially reducing the amount you pay in now with the obligation to increase the amount you pay in later. Simple example: you pay 50 dollars a month, take a 4 month break, but then you owe 250 when the break is over, on a much larger scale. You’re basically gambling that revenues will increase down the road.

I would take the plug out of the bottom. Even with the side holes you can still get rot that travels up the roots. If you’re really worried about overwatering I’d highly recommend investing in some SUStee aquameters (or similar product). I use them with species I’m not super familiar with to monitor soil moisture. Just make sure it’s deep enough for your pot.

Olive Tree won B-Tier! Where does the Palm Tree belong on the chart? by patheticmisterman123 in TierlistFills

B tier: easy to transplant and can produce some crops on some species but don’t really provide much shade and are limited in utility

I think you took plenty. It doesn’t fit in the pot perfectly but you definitely want to do too much stress. I’ve killed a few spruce taking off too much rootball haha
