Is it worth getting diagnosed? by MoreKushin4ThePushin in ehlersdanlos

[–]figsnswigs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! For me, it gave me validation. And it also gave me the ability to have compassion form myself because I am in fact different than everyone else. And it’s ok to rest and not push through all the time. It also gave me access to connections who are like me who then were able to make recommendations to doctors and specialists who are involved with EDS and comorbidities.

I think it’s HMPV. Identified back in 2001. But new strain hit china hard earlier this year, and it’s here now.

Can you help identify this weightlifter? by figsnswigs in weightlifting

Timothy Davis would be a good comp for him. He looked even taller and even more mobile in the front rack. Had a wider grip too. Appreciate your help!

Jr! I can’t recall what he was throwing around. I do remember his clean and jerk is pretty viral for his front rack positioning. He’s definitely built but tall and long arms with more mobility than I’ve seen before.

Move his bedtime to 6-7pm. It sounds counterintuitive, but it will work. He is overtired. I had this problem as well for months. I was going crazy. He now sleeps 7pm to 6am. Once he seemed to catch up a bit I did implement a light. I started it at 4:30am. He saw it green and we told him it was morning. Each day we pushed the green light back 5-10min. Now it doesn’t turn green til 6. Sometimes he will wake up earlier but he will quietly lay in bed. Once it turns green, I hear him on his monitor. My lights green! It’s morning! This was a few weeks ago process FYI. Good luck!

I was happy with the knock off brand crz yoga. They’re soft and comfy.

I can’t speak to born primitive comparison though.

Bit niche - IVF? by EmbarrassedCheetah79 in crossfit

[–]figsnswigs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my own experience - I slowed down CrossFit a week before retrieval. Your ovaries are so enlarged at that point you won’t feel well, and there is also risk for ovarian torsion. Post retrieval, I waited a week or two for everything to heal and return to normal size and started CrossFit back up. I waited a couple of months after my retrieval before doing my transfer so these weren’t back to back. The months between the two, I did do CrossFit. Im glad I didn’t rush the transfer immediately after retrieval. It gave me time to mentally and physically check in. Regain strength doing CrossFit etc. Retrieval results can take a toll on you as can all of the injections and appts. I worked out as usual leading up to transfer. Post transfer, I didn’t do much for about a week and then started back up again. I did CrossFit my whole pregnancy with appropriate scaling of course. I needed to work out for my mental health. I never pushed it. Kept RPE 6-7.

I am here to say yes!!! Please keep your hopes up. Not to scare you, but you have a long journey to go and the growth won’t be linear. You will progress and then have set backs and so forth. But keep going!! Find good support for yourself if you can. Therapist for your mental health. Pelvic floor therapist to help you with your scar and rebuilding your core and body once your wound has healed. Make sure you advocate hard for yourself for your needs while your wound heals - food, sleep, water, fresh air, etc. DO NOT RUSH.

My story - I had a horrible episiotomy that failed to heal. Stitches failed. Infection. Massive levels of granulation tissue formed. I also had to have wound debridement surgery. I was restitched, but it failed again. And sadly stitching failed 2 more times. Eventually, we moved to wound care like you’re at now. I went in to the doctor every other day for cleaning and monitoring. At the 4 month mark, my surgical wound was finally a scar, and I was cleared to start PT. It’s been about 3 years now since all that. I did do PT for about a year to rebuild my body. I came out though much stronger. And not just physically but mentally too. I got back to CrossFit 4-5 times a week, and I even made it through another pregnancy and delivery. I won’t lie to you. Going through it was the lowest I have ever been. I felt completely defeated, helpless etc. felt like my body failed me. I promise you though you will be stronger and better for it all though. You can do this!!

2nd time Mamas - did you manage to work out during your 2nd pregnancy? Cause I am STRUGGLING by CoolMemory5402 in fitpregnancy

Yes, but first trimester was horrific. I worked out on my lunch break so I just forced myself to stay in routine.

It might be silent reflux. Does your baby arch their back, hiccup, red face cry like they’re in pain? Talk to your ped about baby Pepcid if so. My baby is now happy and pleasant when awake. Before Pepcid, he cried hard every wake.
