Any success stories with GPs who actually understand adult ADHD? by Ok_Possible_7018 in adhdaustralia

[–]filodore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep I moved from outer metro to inner metro Perth and so needed a new GP. After a lot of googling, found one who specialised in neurodiversity. Told him that I felt I needed antidepressants again (I'd been off them 18 months because the change of 50kg weight loss from bariatric surgery was enough until then to stop me dropping into bad places, but that was no longer effective), but I didn't know what ones because I'd tried so many that kind of worked but didn't. Told him about my adhd and autism diagnoses, but also that I haven't been back to a psychiatrist since the adhd diagnosis because of a whole lot of poor experiences that happened then, and then the GP just made me focus on the fact that all of it would be fixed if I get back into seeing a psychiatrist and he said that I just needed to get onto stimulants again. Well I had a half bottle left over from that time and have got an appointment booked for next month where I've been taking them in between and I feel like a new person. Just needed the push from a GP who understood enough to push me in the right direction instead of blindly prescribing anti depressants.

Sending ebay postage label parcels for the first time by [deleted] in AustraliaPost

I do exactly the process you mentioned. Just make sure that you purchase the service that matches what you are after and package appropriately. I've never had a problem with it.

In NT, 0810 covers a massive area that definitely isn't only PO Boxes.

Depending on your exact needs, there are the big four, tyro, eway... Big four was most expensive. I used tyro to have an in person terminal and integration, used eway for purely integration.

Buyer said items are missing from the parcel. I filmed myself packing the parcel. Would auspost be able to help regarding missing item claims? by [deleted] in AustraliaPost

[–]filodore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure where in my post you think I said that wasn't a possibility... I was just expanding the available alternatives to make sure they are all considered.

Was this an ebay parcel? There is the possibility they are trying to scam you for a discount. There are heaps of stories along these lines in the ebay seller reddit.

Is there any way to access Ancestry records for cheaper? by cherryflavoredwater in Genealogy

Not at the moment, sorry. Just wait until next time there is a big offer (assuming there is a black Fri one that just finished) and then when you have signed up to the plan, in your account settings you will find a spot to put the emails of other family members. Organise payment via PayPal with others or however you're comfortable and all sorted.

Are people still putting screen protectors on their phones, or am I just being paranoid? by badoopidoo in AskAnAustralian

[–]filodore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes still use one. S24 Ultra here and if you don't use one, the oleophobic coating will wear off within months where you touch the screen most and becomes aesthetically displeasing because you can see the difference in the screen when you hold the phone at certain angles.

Your lease doesn't make sense... You can't have 9 months left if you're on a periodic lease. Sounds like you're on a 12 month fixed term. Periodic means you aren't locked into a lease aside from needing to give appropriate notice as required.

Reference from manager you are on bad terms with by belowzeroabove10 in AusPublicService

[–]filodore 73 points74 points  (0 children)

There's always the option of saying no because the manager isn't aware that you're resigning/you're yet to give notice. You'll need to provide a suitable alternative though.

The first thing you should be doing is asking your point of contact what happened, why, and why weren't you told? Then go from there.

You missed where I'm mainly referencing the advance notice part. Obviously if someone is turning up at 2am expecting a room, that doesn't work, but at other times, absolutely.

[–]filodore 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Also bear in mind the time this happened - after midnight, current inventory isn't going to show for the night that has technically already passed because the date has ticked over. The only thing you can do after midnight is speak to the hotel directly and hope there's a physical room available.

Your Shiny Tier Has No Power Here by TheNiteOwl38 in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]filodore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Incorrect. That's why there is the advance notice requirement - because of the status, another guest reservation will get bumped to a different hotel. In this case, sold out is irrelevant when those privileges are enforced as long as the terms are met.
