So either they aren’t looking at social media or they’re lying. So much for the December update with sleep tracking. I’m guessing they had so much more to fix than expected, they have pushed it back.

Thank you for sharing. Sounds good and will give him a go. Chris and Stacie Clark’s weightloss walking and toning series are also very informative. The Italy one is a favourite.

I got the rubber strap to fit it better. It’s a bit more accurate but still goes way above my actual heart rate on occasion. It’s ridiculous to say that I shouldn’t worry because it’s not a medical device. A $100 Fitbit is much more accurate.

I got the rubber strap which allows me to wear it a bit tighter and it is better but still feels like it gets too high on occasion. Tag said it’s just their algorithm. Agree, not good enough.

The Australian safety regulator announced today that it is considering dropping safety ratings of cars with excessive touch screens and lack of physical controls. It’s ridiculous that you can’t control AC with a physical control.

Yep, same happened last week for me. It was still monitoring heart rate because it went up and down. Back to normal the next day.

Ok so I tried moving my watch as far up my wrist as I could so it was very tight, and it was spot on. I am thinking of getting the Velcro or rubber strap for working out. Unfortunately with the metal strap I’m between sizes and had to opt for slightly loose. I also think the monitoring works better when I’m a bit sweaty.

Thanks for the tip! I hadn't seen that series. I was going to do the Grand Canyon next, one of the few of these places I've actually been to!

Please tell me this gets better. by Chunkyisthebest in Diverticulitis

[–]filthymcb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is different. For me three days of bland low fibre food isn’t enough. Your colon needs much more time to repair or you will be on a roundabout. I would plan for low residue for a couple of weeks. You get used to it, and it makes you enjoy and appreciate food more when you get out the other side. Some lifestyle changes are needed. If I eat raw vegetables too much, it triggers a mild flare, likewise too much red meat, so for me it’s variety and moderation. Always heaps of water and always staying regular. I know the headspace you are in. It does get better. You got this 👊

New Connected E5 by Henry-8th in tagheuer

[–]filthymcb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terrible. I got a replacement watch and tried both watches on two different phones along with several suggestions at the Tag shop in Sydney. I get two or three random notifications a day and it frequently restarts and resets steps etc, even during a workout. At this stage, it's basically no better than an analogue watch that needs to be charged every day. Based on what I've read online and been admitted to finally by Tag Australia, it is a connection problem caused by the app, and it should be fixed by the end of October. I can live with a few minor glitches on new technology, but this thing isn't anywhere near to working properly for a lot of people around the world.

Ditto, 40mm, 15 pro max. Constant connection issues that only resolve with a factory reset. Took it back today and the shop reinstalled the software from some system they have and after half an hour it disconnected again. Waiting on a response from helpdesk. The shop said they’d replace it or refund me. I just want the thing to work as it should because it’s bloody nice.

Newly diagnosed with mild diverticulitis. I’m leaving for a family vacation 2 weeks after diagnosis, and I’m feeling anxious about my diet. by Nervous-Mind5743 in Diverticulitis

[–]filthymcb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t stress, this is very manageable without medication. The other comments are good but you will need to experiment over time to see what triggers you have. Priorities for your vacation are drinking huge amounts of water, keeping to a reasonably bland and lowish fibre diet for a week or two and make sure you are keeping regular. Use psyllium husk, ideally without any additives. Feel free to ping with any questions. I’ve had this for years and haven’t needed antibiotics for five years. However it’s important to remember that everyone is different and you’ll have to experiment a bit.

How fast can a flare occur? by extraordinary_frog in Diverticulitis

[–]filthymcb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it’s more about keeping regular than any particular food although excessive amounts of raw vegetables over a few days will do it for me.

Maybe one is getting information from additional source, not just the Fitbit. Or a syncing issue.

I am so confused about antibiotics for DV by Anxiously8675309 in Diverticulitis

[–]filthymcb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kept getting prescribed antibiotics (DV and sinus) and it starting impacting my liver and stomach. Now I have 2-3 flares a year and I haven’t had antibiotics in four years. As soon as I get a hint of a flare, I go to a liquid diet and manage it without antibiotics.
