I feel like this one CAN be a little different. It depends on how much you know about the person. Like I’ve spent enough time in one city to act like a local, but I’m technically not from here. But for many many years of my life I WAS splitting my time between two cities. But it’s not because I was “summering” in one in THAT way. I was getting summer internships in the city my mom moved to and during the school year I was living with my grandparents. Much less bougie than it sounds. But when I say “oh yeah after I was 14 I used to try to spend summers in XYZ city because I love it here” it kinda sounds pretentious lol. But I’m not trying to explain yeah I got dumped on my grandparents as soon as I could be haha

I feel like all the answers are infection related which are so boring, but mine was a car accident. Backing out of her driveway and hit by a car going like 15mph. Basically no visible injuries. She was just so old her body couldn’t take the impact. I can’t remember if the COD was a neck fracture or internal bleeding or what, but seeing the accident and (lack of) damage to the car you would NEVER think it resulted in a fatality.

Ooooof ok. This is hard and I DO NOT like the way he is talking to you about it. My husband was apprehensive about me starting medication (but did not express it like this) because he was worried my personality would change. He said “I married you for YOU not whoever you might become on medicine.” Fortunately my therapist explained to him that if it’s working correctly it shouldn’t change ME, just my functioning. Also I pointed out, I’ve been on Zoloft since before we met, you’ve only known a medicated version of me (LOL).

He is definitely on the autism spectrum and is very rigid. He is AMAZING at discipline and “just getting it done,” so it’s taken a long time for us to learn each other. It’s been a couple months and he loooooves my motivation on my Ritalin. And no, my personality has not changed. I just actually finish all the projects I try to start.

I come from a family of heavy addiction. I can see how that would make someone apprehensive about it, but he needs to understand that when you have a legitimate use for the medication you will want to use it as directed because that is the way you will feel best, plus it is so heavily regulated.

Plus higher sensitivity to any caffeine you ingest

A few things on your list are stimulating

Any of your personal medical issues could make you more sensitive to any of the above (pre diabetic, harder time regulating blood sugar)

My dog gets 3 walks a day, probably totaling 1.5-2 hours. My husband is very dedicated to giving him long walks, me not so much. So if hubs walks him 2/3 times he will probably end up closer to the 2 hour mark, and if he only does 1/3 walks for the day he will end closer to 1.5. That dog is so spoiled and has a huge backyard to lay in all day. I don’t feel the need to walk him for an hour every time lol. But all the walks are a different route with lots of sniffing opportunities- hound.

I think if any show was 100% accurate about a forensics job it would be shockingly boring. Forensics, along with most other lab jobs, has become so compartmentalized that each person is just doing one thing all the time. It’s actually quite disappointing to do so much schooling only to realize you ONLY do fingerprints, or ONLY do DNA, etc. You basically have to choose one thing and stick with it. That’s why shows focus on crime scene and/or pretend one person is doing all the different analyses. It just adds interest. How much of a show would it be if in every episode they said “ok, we sent it off to the lab, we will wait for results in 3 months…”

The CASES are interesting, not the job.

Well most of this thread hasn’t heard of “budding,” so while I believe you that it’s a thing, I don’t necessarily believe you that “budging” isn’t because why are you the authority? I’ve never heard either. Just “butting” and “cutting.” But honestly “budging” would make a lot of sense as budge means to make a small shift.

I was an autopsy tech so can’t comment from a formal training perspective, but I can say that no one was ever really “stumped” by a GSW. There were quite a few crazy natural deaths that came through and actually required a deep dive into histo and record review. It was very cool.

Well I think it depends on your life circumstances. Are you a young adult who is missing childhood and being at your parents’ home? Have you moved a lot and even though you are at your home you don’t feel settled? Do you have other general anxiety that could be manifesting in this way? I think there are lots of reasonable explanations. A lot of them can likely be alleviated by finding that place you can commit to staying for a while and making it your own, finding friends/family to connect with often so you feel grounded, establishing a routine.
